Discount Hotel in Paris, 2 minutes from Metro.
The Modern Hotel, isnt quite modern but it certainly is located conveniently. The rooms are fair sized for the price and some of them come with en-suite. The decor slightly predated in these Hausmann era buildings. Situated on a main through fair and only 2 minutes from Pere Lachaise metro station, its very well located.
My stay was okay, the original gentleman on the front counter was very stroppy indeed, he initially put me in a room on the 4th floor and as there are no lifts, this was unacceptable. I made him move me to a nicer room on the 1st floor. By nicer I mean the room was clearner and the bathroom utilities were also clean.
Unique Quality: Excellent Location, very easy to get to and near restaurants and cafes. The hotel doesnt have internet connectivity in this modern age, which was a huge dissappointment. Otherwise, the room facilitiies were adequate. I paid £50 per night inclusive of taxes and breakfast.

Modern Hotel
Modern Hotel is not really the modern hotel you would expect with a name like that. In fact it´s the cheapest hotel in Paris as far as I know. It´s situated at a three minutes walk from the Père Lachaise Cemetary, and from the metro station with the same name.
The rooms are very poor. The room I slept in only had a bed, a broken chair and two huge holes in the walls. I think they were renovating the hotel in that period, but who knows how long that renovating would take. The breakfast was very poor too: a limited amount of bread for each table: like three pieces of French bread per person, some coffee and a few cups of strawberry jam, but well: the price was very cheap: € 50,- per room.
