Can anyone identify this location?
by claytonkeller
I took this photo during our first visit to Paris, in 2004, and am racking my brain trying to remember the location. I think it is on or near Blvd. San Michel. Can anyone please help?

If you can make the picture a little larger, you might be able to see a name on that Metro station...

Your memory serves you correctly. This is a view of the Latin Quarter from the San Michel station of the Metro. The tall building houses Le Saint Andre, Brasserie, Paris.
Use the link below to see a better picture:

It is the Latin Quarter, and you must go there again to take in Paris. There are all different kinds of ethic groups there with good restaurants and cafes. Enjoy

Thanks to your help and suggestions, I've found the location using Google Earth and Google Maps. It's where Rue Suger and Rue Danlon intersect, just south of Place St.-Michel. Thanks again.
Travel Tips for Paris
Pretty City shame about the people
by kop-queen
Very pretty city - too many sights to choose or mention. Wasn't prepared for the amount of rust on the Eiffell Tower though. Very pleased to come back down.
Wasn't very impressed by the groups of young men uriinating over the side of the bridges onto the barges passing below. Not very fond memories I'm afraid - hotel was unhelpful, coach drivers were suicidal - or maybe they were all colour blind and didn't see red lights.
go to the Eiffel Tower, of...

go to the Eiffel Tower, of course! There is a fee to go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd levels - but the view alone is worth it. For a spectacular sight, wait until it gets dark. The tower will sparkle every hour or so...
The 15th Arrondissement
by Lady_Mystique
Unlike its neighbors to the east, the Latin Quarter and Montparnasse, the 15ème never gained a reputation as being either upstart or overly literary. Instead, it drew a working middle class within its borders.
Today, the 15ème is the most populous arrondissement, and still middling in incomes and politics.
The expansive Parc André Citroën attracts families on weekends.
Aside from that, the 15ème doesn't have sights to speak of.
Hotels scramble for guests in the summer, and tourists can sometimes bargain for rates.
Locals have their favorites among the grocers on r. du Commerce, the cafés at the corner of r. de la Convention and r. de Vaugirard, and the specialty shops along av. Emile Zola.
Posters of cultural events
by sachara
Everywhere in Paris you will find posters of all kind of cultural events, showing the cosmopolitain atmosphere of the city. Exhibitions of all kind, life music, dance from all over the world. Even if you are not able to visit or to visit all, it gives the feeling of the endless possibilities the city has to offer.
Though most posters are hanging just at the walls in the streets or metro, in the city you will also see the typical elegant columns for advertisement at some corners of the street.
Packing List
by Ash59
November in Disneyland is cold!. Take coat, scarves and gloves. Found it best to wear several layer of cloths so that you could take some off when you visited the cafe. Comfortable shoes are a must. In Disneyland, if you are not on a ride, you are eaither walking or standing in line waiting to go on a ride. Paris is huge as well. The Metro is good for getting from one site to another but there is usually a bit of a walk to get to the attractions.
