Hello I checked on my Map and there is a Monoprix near Rue du Theatre, if you google map it is on the corner of blvd de Grenell and Rue du Commerce.. they have everything.. clothes, shampoo and a grocery department usually up or down from the clothes etc. enjoy!!

Boy I have an exciting life checking out Grocery stores but I do like to see what they carry so always try and find the one close to where I am staying.. on that note ... there is a Franprix on Rue de Lourmel which is very close to where you are staying again google map and click and drag the little orange man and view the area!! again Enjoy!!

franprix is definitely cheaper than monoprix, but you might find your basic needs in a nearby boulangerie..too bad that areas of tour eiffel and alike are almost always lacking space for more economical eat-out places..then again, i guess people who live there can afford the prices.

Hello!
I have already answered a post about cheap restaurants and places to eat in Paris; all of them are in the arr. 1 to 6. None of them are in the 7th which is an expensive residential area. But as you are going to be away from your hotel during the day, that might interest you: http://forum.virtualtourist.com/discussion-508287-1-1-Travel-0-99080-Paris-discussion.html
Travel Tips for Paris
Big Big City
by LarsLous
I think, Paris is a big big city like hundreds in this world. Some people say, it is more romantic, or has more flair, but I do not agree with that. After all, it is a rather dirty city, and most people throw their garbage and used cigarettes on the floor. Paris has not the flair of London or Edinburgh, nor can it compete with really big cities like Cairo or Bangkok. I will certainly not miss Paris that much. What I'll miss the most is the Louvre, unfortunatly we do not have that kind of big museums in Luxembourg.
But I will surely not miss the mostly unfriendly people (try to ask, why the bust of Jim Morrison has gone from his grave and enjoy the answer...brrrr)
A strange parking checkout (2003)
by Mikebond
Do you think that a parking checkout (or how is it called?) like the one in the picture cannot make someone burst out laughing? Well, I'll give you the answer: it can.
The present checkout stood on a street that my parents and I could see from the flat we had rented for our fortnight in Paris. Apparently, my mother only noticed it some days after our arrival, probably in the evening. On the following day, after we got up, she saw the checkout again (of course! will you think) and said to me: "Look, that Muslim woman is still standing there!" You cannot imagine how much I laughed: she had thought the blue part with the "P" to be a chador. When I told her it was a parking checkout, she must have laughed, too.
Poulet Roti
by CALSF
One of the best things about browsing the street markets is the availability of the rotisseries. Poulet roti (roast chicken) is the best as it's freshly roasted. You see the vendors with the huge outdoor ovens. The chickens are lined up on huge skewer-like racks. Round and round go these skewers so as to cook the chickens evenly. Sometimes potatoes are roasted as well except they are thrown at the bottom of the rotisserie to cook.
A Barrel-Organ
by hquittner
Most barrel organs are accompanied by a man and monkey, but I have never seen one in Paris. In fact this is the only organ-grinder I have ever seen. Paris has more street artists than anywhere else in the world: everything from creators of colored chalk sidewalk murals to flute concerto players with amplified recorded orchestral backup and hordes of mimes. This display was located in the gardens of the Champs-Elysees just below the Rond Point by the Petit Palais.
See the rise and fall of Paris Saint Germain
by tomerik
If you're in Paris for the weekend and interested in soccer you should find out the possibility of watching one of France's most well supported football clubs "Le PSG". They play at the Parc the Prince stadium situated in the 16 district. The stadium has a capacity of around 48 000 people.
The atmosphere is always great even if the club have had their ups and downs in the league lately.
For tickets visit the PSG store located at the Champs Elysees or ask at the reception in your hotel. Prices range from 10 to 90 euros. Visit the PSG store at Champs Elysees and gear up with their latest football shirts and baseball cap in order to completely fit in.
