The Mallardrottningen was a ship that was given to Barbara Hutton by her father. There is much more to it's history, and it now floats in the water in Stockholm, where it is the perfect hotel! The scenery in beautiful, the on-board restaurant is excellent, and it provides the perfect starting place in the center of the old city for walking tours!
US $130 Staterooms, each with it's own bath. Incredible views.
Best Budget Hotel!!!

Perfect Hotel is great for travellers on a budget!! Everyone was extremely courteous, and went out of their way to help us. When the airline lost our luggage, reception would let us use their fax and phone to call the airline for an update, and even gave us advice on how to get our luggage delivered faster. The rooms were nice and clean. When we left for a daytrip, they kept our luggage for us until we came back to stay with them the next day, and had our luggage delivered to our new rooms. They also have a wake up call service, and breakfast (delicious bread with butter and jams, and coffee). All in all, a great experience! They are also centrally located, down the block from the Anvers metro stop.
Best Budget Hotel in Paris

We knew the hotel already since we had been living in that area once for a year and friends of us had stayed in the hotel before. This time my husband and me came back to Paris for a couple of days and stayed in the Perfect Hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, small and simple. The bathroom is very small, special where the toilet is, tall persons might actually have some problems to close the door. It's true that the walls are quite thin and you can hear the noise of other people, however, we have never had problems in the night.
Breakfast was somehow in our roomprice included (55 Eur per night, room with a bathroom), normally it costs 3 Eur. Breakfast consists of fresh baguette, butter and marmelade and a hot drink. You can choose between coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Overall, it is the best budget hotel I know in Paris with a great location.
Good location, no complaints

My brother and I stayed in the Hotel Perfect in Montmartre for 2 nights in October. When I booked it I believed it was a hostel - but it goes under the hotel/hostel category. It costed 56 euro per night -that was for a twin room (ensuite). It obviously costs less if you are happy to sleep in a dorm with shared facilities. The room was small and old fashioned (picture of Bob Marley on the wall looked a bit out of place) - but clean and warm. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower was fine. I have seen reviews complaining of the paper-thin walls but we had no such problems.
Breakfast was disappointing - one cup of coffee/tea and a piece of bread and jam. It didn't seem to be a place where anyone could use the kitchen as they wanted. We didn't ask - but I didn't see anyone use it. Its not really a hostel in the usual sense of the word. The staff were friendly - conversed in French - I was happy to do this but I'm sure they would have used English if required.
Overall this place was totally fine. There is a great Italian restaurant across the street called Il Fiore - great food and quite cheap - definitely worth checking out. The Anvers metro station is 5-10 mins walk. If you are interested in French chansons, Au Limonaire is within walking distance - a magical experience.
For a fantastic hostel - try Le Village hostel, rue d'Orsel - just up the road from Hotel Perfect. This place has a real hostel feel, great facilities, friendly staff and spotless rooms.
Value for money.

My husband and I (middle-aged Aussies) stayed at Hotel Perfect for 6 nights in Oct-Nov. on our daughter's recommendation. We found it perfectly suitable for us as well - clean, comfortable, convenient and cheap. The bonus for us was the lift (you have to really hunt for budget establishments that have lifts in Europe). Cafés, pâtisseries, restaurants, small supermarkets and more are all within a short walk as is the Anvers Metro. Sure, the place is a little threadbare here and there and some days the towels were a bit thin but our ensuite was adequate and the bed comfortable. There were 2 chairs and a small table in the room which we made use of for a picnic meal after a long day sight seeing (no fridge so only buy small portions if you're going to do this). Yes, breakfast is simple but the baguette (with jams) is super fresh and the coffee cup large. The staff were friendly and obliging at all times and were happy to speak English when I ran out of French words. My only caution would be that if you're a light sleeper ask for a back room as the street cleaners start very early. On the other hand, being able to lean out the window and watch daily inner city French life was really good. We would definitely stay here again.

Looking for a Hotel in Paris, June 2005 - with a cat.
by Travelqueeny
Hi there,
today we have decided to travel to Paris next June (during the Aero Salon at Le Bourget). We are now planning our tour and do need the perfect hotel for us:
- cosy, calm, near Metro, not to and of course the hotel must accept our friendly cat. The price should be around 130 Euro per night.
Does anybody have a quiet tip for us? Do some hotelchains offer special rates for early bookings outside the internet?
We appreciate you help very muck
TQ and CAT
