Fine little hotel
Hotel Renoir Paris at 39, rue du Montparnasse in many ways is a typical small Parisian hotel, which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed and would freely recommend. Yes, our room was small, and those rooms facing directly on the street opposite a very active bar can be quite noisy at night, as our light-sleeping friends discovered, but somehow a combination of the hotel's friendly, family-like atmosphere together with its terrific location as to eateries (everything from Breton creperies and Belgian mussels to upscale dining), people-watching on the Place Edgar Quinet just up the street, transportation, and simply as to wonderful Montparnasse itself, makes this a lovely and not over-expensive place to sojourn. The petit dejeuner is indeed petit, more petit than its price of 10 Euros, but again the ambiance is very much a part of the pleasant whole. Our shower, by the way, was both strong and hot - some caution, though, is advised in stepping in and out. We also found the front-desk folk always helpful and willing to serve in any way possible, and it doesn't hurt to try your hand, or tongue, at some French. Instead of the reactive grimace of old, the recipient of your attempt will more likely be pleased, or at least will not gag in front of you. We shall return to this hotel on our next trip to Paris, indeed wouldn't consider otherwise.

Ideal Location
ideal location. Right in the middle of Montparnasse beside the big tower block. The rer and metro stops just around the corner and plenty of nice restaurants to fill you up.

Neat little Hotel
small little hotel in the heart of paris. located in a narrow street with loads of restaurants, bars and creperies - but it's calm. the hotel is clean and nicely decorated and the staff is friendly.
breakfast will be offered for additional costs. it's worth taking it, especially on sundays and holidays where most of the "public"-breakfast places are closed. breakfast is well portioned compared to standard french breakfast.
public parking is a mess - but there are at least two public car-parks within 2-3 minutes to walk. public transport is just round the corner.
restaurants and bars are also within seconds to minutes and a grocery is just on the opposite.
overall i can recommend this nice little hotel.
