If you ever stayed in a clean, good hotel around 125 euro on the left bank near st. germain, please I would love your recommendations!
I've saved for 5 yrs. to finally go back to europe!! oooh la-la! merci!
Try the Grand hotel des Balcons. Check their website at www.balcons.com
It's a very nice 2 star hotel. The location is excellent near the Odeon theatre on a quiet street. The staff speaks English. The rooms are small but very comfortable. They serve an excellent breakfast for about 10 Euros.
Bon voyage
The Hotel Clement is in St. Germain and is about 126 euros. It's a nice neighborhood with lots of stores and restaurants. The St. Germain Market is across the street. You are close to rue Buci with a lovely market and lots of restaurants.
We've stayed there and at the two star Hotel la Sorbonne in the Latin Quarter. It's only 80 euros and is actually quite nice. The rooms are clean; they have hair dryers; desk is manned 24 hours a day; location can't be beat. You can walk to an RER and two Metro stations. You can also easily walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre, the d'Orsay and my favorite museum, the Cluny (Musée de Moyen Age). There are restaurants all over the place and people out on the streets at all hours so it's very safe. It is right across the street the Univ. de la Sorbonne so is busy during the day and quiet at night. Staff speaks English if that's a problem. A very nice breakfast is available for 5 euros and there is a Paul's just down the street (on Blvd. St. Michel) with excellent hot chocolate where we love to have breakfast.

Both the Clement and the Sorbonne are an easy walk to the Luxembourg Gardens.
You can also try the following hotels both of which are in St. Germain. The Hotel St. Thomas d'Aquin is actually in the 7th district but it borders right on St. Germain des Pres.

Hotel St. Thomas d'Aquin - www.aquin-paris-hotel.com
They are both 120 euro for a double with breakfast extra.
