Paris has something for every...
Paris has something for every budget. For solo traveling, I'll usually opt for a youth hostel. Three Ducks is a popular choice that's high on the party factor and low on the cleanliness/sleep factor (see photo). Visitors don't have to stay at the hostel to join the party at the hostel bar which makes a good spot for lonely backpackers to make new friends. Backpackers who have a couple of friends often find that the cost of an inexpensive triple at a hotel is cheaper than sleeping at the youth hostel that might have a lock-out period. When I travel with my mother, we'll check into a comfortable two-star hotel such as the Hotel De Senlis in the 5th district.
Senlis: About $65 USD in the high season. Three Ducks: Around $20 USD. Hotel De Senlis, located in the Lower Latin Quarter, is conveniently located near Luxumbourg Gardens and a half block from The Australian Bar where visitors can check their email. The simple rooms have a private bath, cable and a small courtyard.
