Walk from Havre caumartin

by FraMauro

Is it safe to walk from Havre metro to Place de la concorde at night (after 9pm)
Google maps suggested a route - Blvd Hassman & Rue Tronchet. Do these roads have any sidewalks or should we take smaller, inside roads.

They have sidewalks. You could also go to the Madeleine or Concorde Metro stations for a shorter walk.

They are busy streets with lots of cafes and will be busy at 9 PM so safe. No worries.

Have a nice trip.

It is a very nice area to walk around, especially around Place Madeliene. There are broad streets and sidewalks and for the most part well lit, and then over to Place du Concorde. Karl

I never even thought to check if the area was considered "problematic" i just walked and never had a problem. LOL, I've walked Singal Street in Amsterdam at some very late hours and never had problems either. you just need to walk confidently and not look like a "tourist."

Plenty of tall men in dark uniforms with machine-guns in that area, so the low-lifes don't risk it. One of the safest areas you can find in Paris, no problems.

Travel Tips for Paris

Take the time to wander the streets

by asturnut

Take several hours to just wander the streets of Paris. You will discover all kinds of wonderful architectural gems all over the place that are never mentioned in any guidebook. I was smitten with this church I came accross and it's unusual style.

See La Place de la Concorde!...

by Whatever

See La Place de la Concorde!
Ok so we don't chop heads there anymore which took away a bit of the fun, but it's still worth visiting it, if you can get to the Obélisk without getting hit by a car (you'll know what I mean when you get there!). The Obelisk comes from the Temple of Luxor in Egypt, which was offered to France by Egypt's viceroy in 1829 as a favor-currying gesture. (let us not get political!)

For FRF35, you can now ride the Ferris Wheel the city had installed a couple of years ago, located just at the Place Concorde, in front of the Jardin des Tuileries which leads to the Louvre, from which you will be able to take beautiful pictures of places such as the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, La Défense (the 'contemporary' business district of Paris) and its arch...

BRING YOUR OWN DVD'S FOR EXERCISE

by thinking

WANT TO WORK OUT?
Well, you can't do that here without a doctor's permit in French territory!
Sooooooo, do bring your Computer and your DVD exercise tapes with you.
I am sure you can find an exception, but remember, it will be an exception.
