    Clean with a Good Location

    by

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. As most Paris hotels, the room was small, but very clean and comfortable.
It is within a 10 minute walk of the Eiffel Tower and just off the metro line, so is very accessable and convenient.
The internet service in the lobby was very expensive, so I would recommend finding a cafe nearby. Did not try the restaurant so I can't comment. I did find a grocery/department store just a few blocks down the street across from a McDonalds which we found very handy. We could buy picnic fixings, insoles, flip flops etc at pretty reasonable prices.
We paid 89 Euros a night for our double room, and I found it a very good price, especially considering the location. Will stay here again on my next visit!

Unique Quality: You can request a view of the Eiffel Tower on one of the higher floors, but we didn't bother as we spent very little time in the room.

    GREAT PARIS BASE CAMP

    by

MY WIFE AND I HAVE USED THIS PARIS IBIS QUITE A FEW TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND FIND IT THE PERFECT BASE FOR SEEING THE SIGHTS OF THIS WONDERFUL CITY.
THE ROOMS ARE MODERN IN DESIGN, AS WELL AS BEING WARM, AND VERY CLEAN.
THE BATHROOM IS SMALL...WELL VERY SMALL, JUST A SHOWER SINK AND TOILET.
ALL YOU NEED IN A SMALL SPACE BUT AGAIN VERY VERY CLEAN.
DOWNSTAIRS THERE IS A NICE CONSERVATORY WHERE YOU CAN SIT AND ENJOY A GLASS OF WINE OR TWO AFTER A LONG DAY WALKING THE STREETS OF PARIS..WE FOUND THE WINE HERE TO BE SOME OF THE CHEAPEST IN PARIS.
BREAKFAST HERE IS BUFFET STYLE AND IS VERY GOOD VALUE AND VERY POPULAR.
ANOTHER PLUS FOR THE HOTEL IS THAT THERE IS A METRO STATION JUST ACROSS THE STREET, AND FROM THERE THE EIFFEL TOWER IS ONLY A FEW STOPS AWAY.
A TIP FOR CHECKING IN..ASK FOR A ROOM ON THE EIGHTH FLOOR FACING THE STREET, FROM THESE ROOMS YOU WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL VIEW OF THE EIFFEL TOWER..WITHOUT PAYING TOP DOLLAR FOR IT.
ALL IN ALL IF YOU CAN LIVE WITH THE SMALL BATHROOM THE IBIS IS A GREAT HOTEL TO USE ON YOUR TRIP TO PARIS..AND ITS A HOTEL WE HAVE USED MANY TIMES AND HOPE TO USE MANY MORE TIMES IN THE FUTURE..

Unique Quality: THE QUALITIES OF THIS HOTEL IS ITS CENTRAL LOCATION AND THE FACT IT HAS A METRO STATION RIGHT ON ITS DOORSTEP.
THE BIGGEST PLUS WE FOUND WAS THE FRIENDLY STAFF AND THE COMFORTABLE ROOMS..A REAL BONUS I THINK IS TO HAVE A WARM COMFY ROOM TO COME BACK TO AT THE END OF A LONG DAY..AND ON THIS THE IBIS SCORES BIG TIME.... ENJOY.

So close to the Eiffel Tower

    by

Quite a nice hotel. Clean, and friendly staff. The rooms were small but adequate, though the beds were a little on the small side. I believe some rooms have a view of the Eiffel Tower - but mine didn't!

The continental breeakfast was nice, lots of choice, but pretty much the usual, cereal, pastry and yogurts.

Unique Quality: It is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower!!!!

    Directions: Nearest Metro is Cambronne

    A good Hotel.

    by

Well, the Hotel was good in general..but i don't like the main thing..the rooms.

The rooms are very , very small! I you are claustrophobic don't stay here!
The rooms are fine for une person only..not for two sharing the same space. We don't have space for the bags an I never seen a bathroom so small. And it only have a shower!

Unique Quality: The room a'rent good, but the hotel is a excelent location. In a calm street, near a square (Place Cambronne) and 50 meters away from Cambronne metro station.

In the square there are cafes, pharmacies ( I Iwas sick when i was there and only I have to do is to cross the street to buy medecins), there are all the necessary there.

And you are very near to tho Eiffel Tower..only 4 metro stations away...and near to other atracttions like Invalides, Tour Montparnasse and Champs Elis?es.

And the price is good to..I was there in Christmas time, made my check-in 24 December and ckeck out 28 December, and i payed 75 ? for the room!

The prices in Ibis Chain is always for room not for person...it means that if you are alone (single) you pay the same amount 75 ?. It's very cheap a room for 2 for 75 ?.

The breakfast, you pay in addition if you want.
It's 6? per person. My advice is to take the breakfast here istead of the cafe outside the Hotel because here you pay 6 ?, but it's buffet: you have bread , coissants, chocolate bread, ham, iougurt, cerals, milk, cofee, ..and much things..it's a verage breakfast. In the street I saw in the one of the caf?s in Cambronne Sqare, a breakfast with only croissants and milk and coffe, for 7?! Therefore i think it's better eating in the Hotel..in these or in the others.

Directions: At the beguining of the street, right next to metro station Cambronne.

I've stayed 3 days in ibis cambrone and the last day of my trip when i come back in my room just before the check out, i constated that 250 € missed in my hand bag !!!!!
and the front office team was so pretentious with me !!
i will advice to everybody to never check in in this hotel !!

Can't go wrong...

by TripAdvisor Member GAMAGO

-Unbeatable location... just around the corner from the Cambronne station of the Metro.
-Friendly staff (they all spoke English and some Spanish).
-Clean decent-size rooms.
-Inexpensive restaurant.
-Fair rates.

Excellent hotel for Europe's standards. Spent 4 nights there. Would go back again without thinking it twice.

Excellent Location

by TripAdvisor Member uklad79

I have stopped here a couple of times once during the refit of the rooms a couple of years ago. The hotel is well located for getting around Paris. The breakfast is cheap and you can eat all you want, it's a typical continential but still fills you up. The hotel as no facilitys except the restaurant but you don't need them in a city with so much to do. The prices are good and are fixed so it doesn't matter who you book with they are always the same as the Ibis chain doesn't discount rooms. The bathrooms as people have said are tiny but they have what you need so at the price you pay you don't expect much more. The staff are the only let down but they are typical french staff so don't expect too many smiles just lots of rude looks and not much service.

Cheap, cheerful, central

by TripAdvisor Member rusheen

What can I say, we booked a double room for 3 nights for 158.00 Eur in total. The location was very nice and quiet. We could get the metro everywhere (the metro station was just across the road) but you could easily walk to the Eiffel Tower if you wanted. Breakfast was 7EUR there was a good selection of food, and breakfast was served until 12. The rooms were very clean. The room was small and there wasn't much room to store luggage. But it was great value for money. There are no hairdryers in the rooms, but you can borrow one from reception. There are lockers to store your luggage after you check out. BARGAIN!

really good except for one thing...

by TripAdvisor Member mowgli.hemoo

We stayed here for three nights in sept 06. it is easy to get to from paris orly airport via the metro which stops right outside the hotel.

the location is good, it's easy to walk to the eiffel tower, and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

if you don't want to pay for the hotel breakfast you can buy croissants etc from the shop next door for a lot less money.

the only problem we encountered were the staff on reception. they seemed to be more interested in chatting than serving the big line of customers waiting to check in. also when i told them my room key didn't work the genlteman on reception looked at me as though i had insulted his mother (i was expecting zinedine zidane style retribution), and threw another across the counter with a grunt.

that said don't let it put you off, the hotel is clean and well situated as a base to explore.

HELP!!!! Ibis Paris Tour Eiffel Cambronne 15ème or Novotel Paris La Défense

by cristinaarrasco

PLease I need help!! I am travelling with my husband and 2 year old daughter to Paris on December 23rd to spend Christmas Eve. My question is where to stay in the Ibis Paris Tour Eiffel Cambronne (which is very close to Eiffel Tower) or in Novotel Paris La Défense which is a better hotel, more confortable but a little far away.
We will stay 3 nights before flying to Athens, so I need your help to decide where i should stay...
Thank you!!!

I prefer to stumble out of bed, pick up my cafe au lait, some pastries from a local patisserie and when the caffiene kicks in know I am in Paris. the closer you are to the city centre, i.e. by ET, the better. JMHO, Have a great time, Karl

La Defense is too far out of the way. Stay at the Ibis. It's a basic hotel, nothing fancy or charming but it's clean. They usually have a good buffet breakfast at a reasonable price.
Novotel is a better category of hotel but the location is not good for Paris. You'll be there only for 3 nights, so you don't want to spend all your time traveling in the subway.
Bon voyage

I'd vote for the Eiffel Tower location. If you have a 2-year-old, you do not want to be spending any more time than absolutely necessary on the Metro. It's such a pretty area and you can walk around and enjoy the lights.

Have a great trip. What fun!

Anne and I stay on Rue Cler in a little hotel calle the Grand Hotel Leveque.

http://www.hotel-leveque.com/

It is very close to Eiffel Tower. The metro is approx 300 yards away and Rue Cler has a cottage feel about it with cafes, fruit and vegetable stalls, bakeries and two small general stores.

No cars are allowed in Rue Cler.

La defense location is much more for business people and there is no sense of a town or village, unlike staying near tour eiffel. despite the less creature comforts. near tour eiffel there are restaurants cafes and places to walk .. so i second the above opinion.. la defense is well connected but i dont think you would get the sense of being in paris if you stay at la defense
