What do Points Make??
Just come back from my stay in Le Grand Paris, where I took my wife for our 30th wedding anniversary. What a lovely hotel.
Location
Just 1.5km from Gard de Nord and adjacent to the Opera Metro (which is cheap(€1.5 per trip), clean, reliable....) An ideal location for sightseeing Paris.
Accommodation
Hotel is very large, but thanks to the corridors having their own names, finding rooms is easy.
I used Priority points for my stay (40,000 per night) as I would never pay the rates the hotel are asking (€6 - 700 per night) even for my anniversary! The "Classic" room you get is more than adequate - clean, bright with a large bathroom. Maids are very good and carry out a turn-down service in the evening, at which they even change the towels.
Meals
Who would pay €37 each for a continental breakfast when there are numerous cafes within walking distance wher eyou can buy TWO breakfasts of similar quality for only €8??
Rue d'Italians has countless restaurants to accommodate any discerning palate. Plat de Jour at many may look good value, but quantity and quality is far less than main menu.
Overall
A great base for looking around Paris, watch out for the mad drivers/bikers and enjoy. Use Priority points unless you have a fat wallet!!

Very Good All Around
Well located hotel with attentive staff. The (upgraded) room was large and the bed great. The hotel was close to most all of the sights. I have recommended this hotel since our stay in Feb 2006
Unique Quality: A nice little bar off the lobby for an intimate drink. The Westin bed was great. The staff was responsive.

Amazing place to stay!
Can't go wring staying there... This hotel is like a palace. The service is amazing. The rooms are good size, the food is delicious. I ordered room service and they brought me a big plate of pastries complimentary. The onion soup was perfect. I went to the spa for a massage and it was very relaxing. It is also the perfect location, close to shopping, Opera, attractions, restos, and metro.

Top Notch Hotel
I work in travel, I have visited the hotel many times for the day on fam trips to Paris with my clients.
Compared to other so called 5 star hotels you would be hard pushed to find a better all round hotel for location, style and service.
I was lucky enough to stay the night this year and I can understand why my clients go back time after time, the rooms have a great French feel mixing very well with the state of the art TV/entertainment system the clients demand these days.
The Cafe de la paix is a must, breakfast was expensive but very very good, try and get yourself breakfast incl in your rate.
Unique Quality: The Atrium and the ballroom with the most amazing celling I have ever seen in a hotel

Very good I-C hotel centrally located
Service: ***** Very professional and friendly.
Facilities: **** Recently had a BIG renovation (2003) Superb, but no gym at the moment.
Also pool would be nice.
Amenities: ***** Everything ya need and some.
Location: ***** Great central location. The airport bus, Roissybus, stops right outside the hotel across the street and costs around 9 euros per person.
Unique Quality: The Club level is 3rd floor, and in the 5th floor there is a unique 2-story club lounge for only the guests staying in club floor. There is always something to eat (gourmet-snacks etc), soft drinks, pastries, cocktails.. something all-day. If you can find a club room rate just a little higher than a normal room, get it. It's well worth it!

Grand style near the opera *9e*
The old Intercontinental has been recently renovated to its former grandeur. The photo-collage shows the lobby and the magnificent ballroom. Cafe de la Paix is in this hotel. The lobby bar is a nice place to sit with a drink to enjoy the elegant ambience.
Unique Quality: I am partial to the lobby atrium -- although the ballroom should be visited if it is open.

Le Grand Is Very Centrally Located
If you want to stay in a convenient location here in Paris, you may wish to try the LE GRAND INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL, located just opposite the Opera Garnier and a 1-minute walk to Galeries Lafayette, Mark's & Spencer and Printemps. We were very fortunate that we got a really good rate at this hotel. And what's more, we were upgraded (yes!) to a junior suite facing Boulevard Haussman! I guess that is the only thing that's 'inexpensive' and within our budget here in Paris....
Unique Quality: Everything else in Paris and especially at this hotel is VERY, VERY expensive!!!
For example, my girlfriend and I had to think TEN times whether to eat breakfast at the hotel (€25, I believe) or drink a cup of hot chocolate (€5). Don't even get me started on the cost of room service.

One Of The Best Hotels In Paris....
This opulent 100+ year old hotel is wonderfully and strategically located just next to the Opera Garnier. Even if you don't stay here, you must come at least once to marvel at the brightly decorated Belle Epoque-style lobby!
And yes - that's us (Shirley & moi) at the main entrance of the hotel. We were just about to leave the hotel to explore the city of Paris.
P.S. This is my girlfriend's first visit to Paris. Noticed the star-struck look on her face? ;-) (You know, I'm really gonna get killed for writing this).

Grand Hotel Intercontinental
Is it a good place to stay?
I'm looking for a 5stars hotel with good location
RE: Grand Hotel Intercontinental
You won't find a five star hotel in Paris as we only have four star hotels or four-star luxe which would fit what you are looking for. The location of this one is great.
RE: Grand Hotel Intercontinental
Hotel Nuit Saint George - just a few steps from Champs Elysee
RE: Grand Hotel Intercontinental
Try the Hotel Cambon, http://www.hcambon.com/ It is a nice and confortable 4 stars hotel located near The Concorde Place and The Madeleine place. From steps to the Louvre museum and the champs elysees avenue. A great location , in a calm street, neat the metro Station Concorde, in front of the Tuileries Garden. The hotel was recently fully renovated. The woman at the reception is a nice person.
I hope it will be helpfull
RE: RE: Grand Hotel Intercontinental
I assume you're asking for opinions on the Le Grand Intercontinental. I've stayed there and enjoyed it very much. The room could have been a bit bigger though. The interior of the hotel has been recently re-furbished and is very nice to say the least. The location is great as well with the Opera Metro station right there and it's a short walk to the Louvre, ect. However, Paris does have 4 star hotels that are considered better than this one, such as the George V and even Intercontinental's other Paris hotel which is closer to the Place de Concorde and the center of Paris. At the same time, I bet you can get a better deal on the rate with this one.
RE: Grand Hotel Intercontinental
Have a look at Hotel Beau Manoir a very very nice hotel in the 8th, it is centrally located not far from Champs Elysees and from Opera...on the right bank of Paris. It is a 4 star but you will have a better idea by visiting the website of the hotel: http://www.hotelbeaumanoir.com
Enjoy your trip!
