Radisson SAS OR Sofitel Champs Elysee?
HELP! We are coming to Paris by next week and we have to book for Deluxe Rooms on either of the two hotels mentioned. Any advise...or help to decide from anyone who have steyed there?

Paris New Years Options
I know this has being discussed many times but I find most of the post does not go into enough detail.
Jsut want to know some suggestions.
Would a cruise on the Sein be a good option? Is so any details?
Also we are staying at the Champs Elyesees area (The Sofitel Champs Elysees) Is this hotel good?
Will it be hard to get back to the hotel that night?

Hi there,
you should definately take a cruise on the Sein. It is quite uplifting and nice to see the city from the seaside. You can also jump on/off at most of the boats. So do that :)
The Sofitel is a quite good hotel. Pretty international and very central... Not much fun around in the area, since this is the Champs Elyesees. But the hotel itself is good. I can recommend just as good hotels in St. Germain if you want to..

From Ch Elysees, you can go to Eiffel Tower and take the boat, just in front of the Tower.

Hey, yes, definitely I agree about taking that Seine nighttime cruise. Never did it myself but from what I understand it's very nice as you will pass by the lighted monuments and buildings. Then you'll understand fully why Paris is called 'the city of light'.:) Plus I heard it's tres romantique...
As to your concerns regarding the Sofitel Champs Elysees check the reviews on tripadvisor.com; they are all favorable. I believe this property used to be owned by another chain but I'm not 100% certain.

if you go on the Seine in winter, take a big coat with you.
it is cold and windy sometimes.
Note: the parking is free in front of the Eiffel Tower if you take the boat.

If you plan on taking a taxi back to the hotel I believe it'll be very difficult. The Champs Elysees is also quite an action-packed place at NYE so it'll be crowded. Be careful-heard it gets out of hand most times.
