A real find for Paris!
I've stayed in Paris quite a lot in everything from little provincial two stars to the Crillion. Le General was a pleasant surprise.
OK, so it's not the Crillion or the Paris Ritz but it is bright, clean, modern and trendy. The welcome was wonderful and I was always greeted by a smiling face whether dealing with the owner, the receptionist, the barman or the waitresses.
My room was spotless, the bed comfortable - even for my 6'5" height, the shower alwasys had plenty of hot water, all the TV channels worked and the free to use WiFi connection was a bonus for my work.
Breakfast options were not exactly extensive but it was all tasty and fresh. I didn't explore the cocktail menu to extensively but I can report that the barman makes a mean Mohito!!
Location is great - a quiet sidestreet just two minutes from La Republique - making Beauborg (Pompidiou Centre) and Les Halles all within easy walking distance if you're looking for some evening entertainment. By Metro it's only a handfull of stops on line 11 to Chatalet-Les Halles from where you can get a connection to pretty much anywhere in Paris.
I'll definately be using this hotel on future trips to Paris as it represents excellent value for money in the medium-price hotel category.

Very Chic Hotel
When we walked into the hotel we found the lobby to be surprising.., its more like just a small podium for the reception are then a cool bar area and surrounding couches.., very cool and relaxed feeling. Even though we were sort of shocked about the size of our room everything else about the hotel made up for it!
Unique Quality: Cool Bar area, they give out really good sour gummi candy at happy hour!
