Pre purchased Louvre Passes
by intercontinental
Entrance queues to the Louvre are legendary! Avoid this time-consuming nightmare by pre-purchasing your tickets. Australians can do so through French Travel Connection (www.frenchtravel.com.au). We ordered our passes through the website and paid by credit card. The passes (together with our Paris Visite metro passes) arrived promptly by courier, together with a book of discount vouchers for sights in the city.
My husband laughed at my zealous prep work until he saw the insane queues snaking past the I.E.Pei pyramid! The passes allow immediate entry at the Passage Richelieu entrance (as indicated on the reverse of the ticket. It also comes with return Metro transport to the museum.
A little more expensive the purchasing at the door, but worth the splurge!
Paris Museum Pass
by Jeannkelly
To maximize museum and monument visits, I highly recommend to buy the Paris Museum Pass. It's quite economical and saves you time qeueing up on museum entrances. For 30euros you can visit all state museums and monuments and express entrances for 2 days.. Just make sure you have a good plan of which museums/monuments so that you can maximize use of the Museum Pass.

Pantheon
by bugulma
In 1744 Louis XV became ill seriously and mad a vow to build new temple. In 1789 it was finished but in 1791, it is become as a pantheon. Nevertheless Napoleon I Emperor in 1806 has returned it to the church. There were several times when the building was church and then pantheon again. But in 1885, after Victor Hugo's death, Pantheon became national burial-vault. Here you may find graves of Voltaire, Russo and other the most famous person of France.
The ticket is EUR 7.00 and the nearest station is Luxemburg (RER B).
Rude...
by IIGUANA
Parisians are well known to be rude people. Although there are some exceptions (the waitress at the spaguibar and the seller at Dyptique), most of the sellers at shops and most waiters are quite rude. So don't be surprised. It's nothing personal, it's just the way they are. After all, having tons of tourists a year can annoy anyone!!!
Dressing in Layers
by Tom_Fields
Travel light. You'll probably need to do some walking with your bags, so consider that when packing. Paris has a pretty mild climate, at least by my standards (see my pages on Omaha, Nebraska). You probably won't need a big, heavy coat. Pack a few sweaters, sweatshirts, and a jacket, dressing in layers. It rarely gets cold enough for really thick winter wear.
