most visitors stay around the arrondissement or neighborhoods of Paris, that are in the 1-6 sometimes 7th neighborhoods, needless to tell them ,these are also the most expensive in the city. Of course, they are move convenient to the major sights, but the metro put you in no time anywhere in the city and beyond.
the national chains have nice inexpensive hotels around the perimeter of Paris, look up etap, formule one, campanile,ibis brand names. as for specifiques cannot direct you since i live here do not rent hotels in years;;;around the city.
