This was my first trip to Paris and I had heard how rude the hotel staffs could be here. This hotel had a great front desk staff and a wonderful breakfast each morning. It is on the left bank and about a 10 minute walk to Notre Dam. The rooms were small but clean and ours had a small balcony-------I recommend this hotel.

We arrived Paris via train from Madrid early in the morning - well before the listed check-in time. The hotel staff was accommodating in that they allowed us to leave our luggage in their storage area as they prepared our room while we had breakfast. The staff was friendly, efficient and warm.
The rooms were of average size by European standards with all the necessary amenities. Free wifi was available as well as a computer in the lobby for those who don't travel with portable computers. We didn't partake in the hotel's breakfast because we decided to take advantage of all that the quarter had to offer. I recommend you do the same.
The hotel does not have a gym but the manager will give you a pass at one of their sister hotels.
Recommended with approval.
Located in the heart of the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain des Pres, the hotel is surrounded by countless eateries: cafes, brasseries, creperies. It's a five minute walk from the Seine and the Notre Dame. Centrally located.

I stayed there for 14 nights...enchanting experience. I had a room at the last floor..with a nice view on the street.
The hotel is located in the enchanting latin Quarter and Saint-Germain des Prés. It's at the right side of the Sorbona and really near Notre Dame and Pantheon.
Just returned to USA from a 4 night stay. Out first trip to Paris. Couldn't be more pleased with the location, breakfast, internet access, cleanliness, nice big bath tub, quiet enough, staff was efficient and helpful. Lovely small hotel. Very nice nearby brasseries nearby. Less than 10 minutes to Notre Dame and the San Michel RER station (We rolled our own carry-on bags) We had a package through Gate1 travel - I don't think the rate was much more than 80 Euros nightly.
Moderne Saint Germain Hotel: Convenient for RER from CDG

Are you arriving from CDG airport? You might then consider staying in a hotel in the Latin Quarter because, that way, you can get the RER from CDG airport direct to St Michel station and there is no swapping onto Metro with a suitcase etc. There is more going-on in the evening as well as there being hundreds of places to eat around there. Then, as you are close to Notre Dame you can walk to the Louvre via Pompidou Centre and the Stravinsky Fountain. Using the metro, the Eiffel Tower and other sights are all "do-able" from that area too. Finally, these hotels are all close to "the centre" rather than being way out on the periphary. There are lovely hotels near the main sights of course - I am just offering an alternative viewpoint. We tend to walk everywhere too so my suggestion above works for us! Look at the travel pages and members tips in here - you will find lots of great advice.
Great location, fairly quiet, yet near to Notre Dame and the restaurants of the Latin Quarter.
