Hi ,
I am visiting paris end of july 07 and need to go to Louvre Museum from the hotel Novotel Paris Est (Address : 1 Avenue de la Republique ).
What is the best way to get there.

THe Paris metro system is excellent, and very cleary marked. But I reckon nothing beats walking - especially at this time of the year. Practically every street corner has large clear maps with the 'You are here' clearly marked. Paris is not like other large cities, it has a human scale to it that make for great exploring on foot
I was thinking it would be a great walk too. However, if you want to take the Metro, go to the Republique Metro Station and take Metro 11 direction Chatelet to Hotel de Ville. Change to Metro 1 direction La Defense to Palais-Royal Musee du Louvre. If you enter the Louvre from the Metro station, there is hardly ever a line. You will have to go through security no matter where you enter.
