Arch de Triumph is a few kilometers northwest of the Obelisk on the grand boulevard of Avenue Des Champs Elysees. The world's largest triumphal arch and an international symbol of France, this 50-meter-high giant was commissioned in 1806 by Napoleon in honor of his Grande Armée. The monument was completed in 1836, 21 years after the army's defeat. Twelve avenues radiate from the arch which explains why it is also called place de l'Etoile (etoile = 'star'). The tomb of the Unknown Soldier lies beneath.
Changing Diapers at Notre Dame
by ChicBaby
The toilets at Notre Dame do not have a changing table (get used to it!) and the stalls which also have sinks and blowers do not have any room for changing diapers. The only other option is to change a diaper near the sitting area or hallway leading up to the toilets. You have no other option and you can go to a corner. You probably won’t bring your stroller here because there are about a flight of stairs to get to the hallway leading to the toilets. If you can change your baby in the stroller (recline it all the way and just do it), I would do it up in the square. If you don’t want to go down to the toilets because there will be people down there and they will stare and look at you…Change the baby in the square or on a bench. I did it very quickly on a park bench and I saw another couple changing a tiny baby in the stroller. It was cold, but sometimes you just can’t take the public staring. Also, obviously you can change the diaper in the church itself. It is quite dark in there, but there are always tons of people. Finding a space without getting in the way of camera may be difficult!
De Grasse monument
by kris-t
"De Grasse (1722 – 1788) was a French admiral. He is best known for his command of the French fleet at the Battle of the Chesapeake, which led directly to the British surrender at Yorktown."
American A.K.Macomber, a resident of France since the end of World War I, commissioned the 1931 monument of Admiral de Grasse near by the Trocadero Palace in Paris. By the way, the Grasse River (flows through St. Lawrence County, New York) is named for him.

U restoranima se daje napojnica (koja je obicno uracunata u cijenu). Prema tome na cijenu napisanu na meniju morate racunati na franku-dvije povrh za napojnicu...
Ulaz u Louvre (1994.god.): 1 dan = 60F
3 dana= 120F
5 dana = 170F
Monsieur Noir's Stuff
by Sagespot
Although Paris' Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise is home to over 800,000 individuals, some of them have better stories (or at least more published,) than others. My recommendation is if you're headed to Pere Lachaise to see Jim Morrison or maybe Oscar Wilde, then make sure to stop by Victor Noir's grave - I promise it's worth a good giggle.
Victor Noir, pseudonym of Yvan Salman was shot and killed by Pierre Bonaparte, great-nephew of Napoleon at the tender age of 22. You can find his bronze effigy in Division 92.
Story has it that a woman who strokes the amply filled crotch of Monsieur Noir's will quickly become pregnant.
Scandal came when to many future mothers were rubbing a bit to enthusiastically, and the larger than life sized package was being worn down. Although a fence was put up a few years ago, it's removed now, so feel free to have a stroke...and a good giggle.
Hours for the cemetery are: 8am-6pm Monday-Friday, 8:30am-6pm Saturday, 9am-6pm Sunday (Mid-March-Early November;) and 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm Saturday, 9am-5:30pm Sunday (Early November-Mid-March.) Entrance is free.
