Walking Tour for kids
by Plumeria54
We arranged for a 3 hour private tour with an English speaking guide from Paris Walks. She met us at our hotel and designed the tour for our 2 kids (ages 10 & 12). After showing us how to use the Metro, we started our tour by L'Opera and ended in the Latin Quarter. She kept the kids interested by explaining the history of the buildings we walked past, interesting tidbits about the buildings, and where to find the best ice cream in Paris. It was a great overview of Paris and well worth it.

Disney Village

Disney village, just outside the parks is a mixture of restaurants and shops with something for everyone. We dined at Annetts which looks like a 1950.s american diner where the waiters get up on the bar to dance to Street Lighting, pulling some of us up too. Outside there are the two cars that look like the ones from Grease the movie.
There is also Buffalo Bills, Planet Hollywood and several more to choose.

When you walk into a shop or cafe, the merchant will greet you with "bonjour monsieur/madame"
You are expected to respond in kind.
The French expect people to be polite and follow a few simple rules.
We walked into a busy but small shop along the Rue de Rivoli. There were three salespeople behind the counter and they all looked a bit grim. I said "bonjour ..." and their faces lit up and they all responded with bonjour...
Packing List

Bring good walking shoes. Paris is nice enough and everything is close enough to walk just about anywhere. Unlike London or Rome, walking Paris is much nicer than taking the underground or bus. Bring a long sleeved shirt and a raincoat or pullover. It tends to be chilly and sometimes damp.
