Great Place To Stay
by TripAdvisor Member rmcl26
This hotel was a welcomed site following some of the places we had previously stayed throughout Europe. The room was not large at all, but it was nice and clean; as was the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we had a nice view or the street and cafes below.
The staff was very friendly. They allowed us to leave our luggage with them following checking out, and they even had a private room to lock it in.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was very nice.
First immpressions can be wrong

It wasn’t love at first sight, probably because it was late and we were tired when we checked in. The following morning gave us a new prospective on our hotel room.
The room was small and the walls needed painting--marks from previous guests’ luggage decorated the white walls. The room, though small, was very clean. The bathroom was fitted with what looked liked all new fixtures, it too was very clean. The view from our balcony (#403) made up for the room’s lack of space. The hotel itself is situated in a mixed residential neighborhood, our reaction that first night was ‘seedy’ but we were wrong about that too. The surrounding neighborhood is charming with great little cafes everywhere and a laundry mat just around the corner. The hotel is just minutes away from several Metro lines and is within walking distance to Notre Dame, museums, and the West Bank. We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel as there are bakeries, coffee shops and markets selling fresh produce on practically every street. The hotel staff was helpful and pleasant. This hotel is a great bargain for the money, our five night’s stay at the Relais de Paris made our Paris trip all the more memorable. If you decide to stay there, don’t forget to check out the hotel’s stairway, an architectural gem.
you get what you pay for!!

This hotel is not in the best of areas. We asked for 2 rooms at the front of the hotel and were told we had them. The rooms in fact were on the back of the hotel with a view overlooking a courtyard with residential properties and 2 burnt out cars just metres from our window. Our room was the size of a postage stamp with a stained bed cover, the bathroom was the only nice, clean part of it. Our husbands went to reception to ask for different rooms and offered to pay more, they were told 'you only sleep in the room' and to come back tomorrow to see if anything was available. We checked out 7am the next morning and booked into the Holiday inn, Montmatre for the rest of our stay - which was excellent!
Not the best by far

The first thing that struck me was that the staff were so rude to us from the moment we arrived. They were unhelpful in giving directions and they even ignored us in some instances. The location was not ideal but it is easy to get around on the Metro. Overall the rooms were nice and clean and breakfast was great. Had, it not been for the staff, our stay there would've been very pleasant.
Good hotel, excellent location

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights from 21 to 25 June. The room was clean and modern. I had a view on the boulevard which was really nice and not too loud. The breakfast was good and the staff was helpful except one member of staff who was purposely annoying. Location of the hotel were great. I would stay there again.
Pretty good, not amazing

I stayed here just before Christmas last year with my mother and sister. Our triple room was tiny, but the beds were very comfortable and linens clean.
Breakfast was great - yogurt, meats, cheeses, eggs, fabulous bread and lovely coffee. We weren't hungry 'til late afternoon after each breakfast.
The free internet service was nice to have, but it was somewhat unreliable.
