We stayed at the Hotel...

by written on September 12, 2002

We stayed at the Hotel Residence Alhambra.
It only cost us approx $280 US for 4 nights. Small room, two twin beds and a private bath. Plenty of hot water.

**Just to clarify, this is $280 US dollars for 2 people for 4 nights. (Two twin beds)**

Don't get me wrong, the room was tiny but we didn't go to Paris to watch 90210 in French (which I did when I had my hangover). :)

Unique Quality: Nothing special but it's very cheap. The concierges were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was included with the room but we never ate there. The maid finally realized that we weren't getting home until 5AM every morning and stopped trying to clean our rooms at 6AM. That was nice!

Directions: It's right off the Oberkampf Metro stop (sortie Crussol).

During my latest visit to Paris
I stayed at the Hotel Residence Alhambra.

This friendly little hotel has a little garden where you can sit and enjoy your
breakfast..or just relax.

Alhambra was renovated in 1987 and it has 58 rooms with bath, W.C, TV and telephone. All
in all 2 stars.

It's mid-ranged priced and a good deal for the $$$$$

Unique Quality: This Hotel is on a small quiet street but is close to
several attractions

like the Bastille, Republique
and Centre Pompidou.

The metro station Oberkampf is just around the corner.

500FF for a triple room, 355FF for double room

Unique Quality: Relatively cheap 2 star hotel, location convenient for trendy Saint Martin Canal / Oberkampf areas, Place de la Republic and the Bastille area, plus very close to Metro for all the major sights. Only down side was the hot water seemed to run out quite early in the morning... friendly staff - English speaking

Directions: 13 Rue de Malte, 75011, close to Place de la Republique, and Oberkampf Metro station.

Stayed here in fall of 2012. Filthy rooms and rude staff. Don't bother with the rip-off breakfast. There are many other nice places in Paris.
