Brittany Products In Paris

by QuisquoseQuique

Hi there. Does anyone know where (if at all) I could buy products from Brittany in Paris? I'm looking for Breton cakes, biscuits etc. I'm particularly after Gateau Breton and Kouign Amanns.

Perhaps there is a shop that specializes in food products from various regions of France. I know there is Fauchon, but I don't know if they sell products from Brittany. In addition to that, I had a very unpleasant experience there a few years ago and would prefer to go to another shop.

Many thanks.

Try around montparnasse train station :-))

You really need to be in Brittany - preferably in Finistere, bit this place has quite a reputation in Paris - and further afield -

Many thanks for the replies.

max_stirner: I'm intrigued...why around Montparnasse station? Is there a large Breton community there?

ranger49: Many thanks for the suggestion of Bled Sucre. I’ve had a quick look and will definitely go there. I'd love to go to Brittany, but alas, my upcoming trip will only be to Paris. And let's hope the weather doesn't derail my trip, even though mid January won't be any better than December.

QQ Hope you make it to Paris - I am currently snowed in in lovely Dorset but we plan to get home tomorrow!

I think there is a shop on Blvd St Michel right hand side if you are walking from the Seine toward Luxembourg gardens, I remember thinking it was odd.. just a little spot! Hope it helps!!

Also I am sure the Bon Marche Epicure shop would have them... might be cheaper to go to Brittany, but it is worth a look around.. ha ha...

Some mention Laduree (very upscale) or Pierre Herme (looks pricey) for these.

Certainly the area around Gare Montparnasse is as close to a "little Brittany" as one can get. It's certainly the place to find lots of creperies. Otherwise, you'd probably do best looking for good pastry shops in general that do viennoiserie.

LUGGAGE LOCKERS in Paris

by ROMAFASHION

You can find them at train station GARE DU NORD (lines 4 and 5 ). When you enter from main entrance its on right side, down the escalator. BE CAREFUL, you go through same thing as at airport. Jackets, belts, watch, keys off, your luggage go on screen checking. There are no instructions in English and noone could speak there English.
Once you got there, be sure to have coins. Find open locker (3 sizes), put your luggage inside, turn the handle right and you will see on screen how much you have to pay. Insert money and you will get a receipt with number of your locker and CODE to get you luggage back.
We fitted two small cabin luggages in the smallest one and paid 4 €.

Taking a cruise of Seine is...

Taking a cruise of Seine is the best way to glance Paris at a time. There are majestic buildings and sites all round the city, the Notre Dame, the Conciergerie, the Opera, The Bourbon Palace, the Pantheon, the Hotel des Invalides, the Hotel de Ville, Concord Square, the Eiffel Tower, the Arch of Triumph, Arche de la Fratanite, etc. There are a lot to see, you will find your time is never enough there.

Arch of Triumph

by pili

Raised over command of Napoleon Ier, the Arch of Triumph dominates the Avenue of the Champs-Elysees. Its construction began in 1806 and ended in 1836, 15 years after the Napoleon's death.-

Construída a pedido de Napoleón I, comenzó en 1806 y terminó en 1836, 15 años despúes de la muerte de Napoleón. Inside the Arch, a small museum documents its history and construction. The price of admission includes access to the top of the Arch. The perspective of The Louvre - Place de la Concorde, Les Champs Elisees, La Defense is superb. It's one of the most beautiful panorama of Paris.-

Singing at Sacre Couer ladder

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

Sacre Couer predominates over Paris and it is visible practically from any point, as Tour d'Eiffel. The fine view at evening Paris opens from basils. A lot of people gather on a ladder, including amateurs of Beatles. They play guitars and sing, I have sung with them together "Close your eyes, and I'll kiss you, Tomorrow I'll miss you... "

Statues in the park ...

by shrimp56

Of course many of the statues are of famous soldiers or statesmen or naked ladies, but in Parc Monceau [on the left] and just outside Musée Carnavalet [will you give the poor woman a hand??] you will find more classical options ...
