Hi
Will arrive at orly in the early morning 18/9. Plan to take either bus 183 to port de choisy metro or 285 to villejuif/juvisy. Could anyone please tell me what zone are all the above metro station fall in as I would need to buy mobilis day ticket covering the right zone. Could you also advise which route is preferable / better in term of time/cost/convenience? please?
Will be traveling with younger sister who is 25 y/o. Can she ask for the jeune ticket at the metro station counter?

I just need some clarification. Porte de Choisy is in zone 4 metro? as is villejuif/juvisy? I thought that they are in zone 2 or 3 from the ratp pdf map.

May take bus to porte de choisy and from there will buy mobilis for zone 1 & 2 (since porte de choisy is in zone 2). That way will only cost me around 7-8 euros compared to other options.
That's doable right?
sorry for another question but do you know around what time will the ticket counter at the metro open on saturday morning?

This is an half naked marble statue estimated 100 BC of Greek Goddess Aphrodite (Venus in Roman mythology) has lost both arms and yet is admired by millions.
It was discovered on the island of Milos. Also supposed a broken left arm with an apple (Miilos in Greek) was found near the torso.
When walking in Paris, you may notice some oar shaped granite signs in front of houses and monuments.
Situated in front of less known attractions and historical houses, they display some information you may not find in paper guides :
- what is this, what was here...
- when was it built
- who lived here, when, ...
NB : the oar shape has been chosen after the Paris town symbol : a boat.
Stroll down the Chapms Elysees, one of world's most celebrated avenues. If one thing embodies the grandeur of Paris it's the Champs with Arc de Triomphe at one end, and the royal Louvre at the other. People come here day and night, to get the feeling of the city and join in the colorful conglomeration of people that come here, natives and tourists alike. Sitting in a cafe on Champs Elysees with Irena the night before our departure to the Netherlands and drinking a cold Heineken. We afforded that luxury just for the heck of it but it did cost us alot, so I don't recommend it as everyday activity, if you're backpacking like we were. You must remember that everything along Champs Elysees is very expensive.
I would suggest that if you are going to be spending a week or more in a location to try to go to a local brasserie on a regular basis.
By doing this, you get to sit in with the locals, chime in with conversation and participate in a daily ritual. You could do it in the morning for your first coffee or in the afternoon for a kir - but do it. You get a better feeling for the pace of life and you'll hear about what issues the locals are concerned about.
I did this when I stayed in the Marais, once, and also in the 15th arrond when I stayed at Aloha Hostel - worked fantastic. I got to practice French and learn from locals and even was given a free drink after a nice conversation with the bar man.
It is much better if your luggage has wheel but definitely I would suggest packing light. It is not fun dragging your luggage along the cobble stone street. Definitely a comfortable walking shoe. Paris is great for walking around and sight seeing. If you don't have a nice comfortable shoe walking on the cobble stone street, your feet maybe suffering at the end of the day. A great digital camera with a lot of storage space. There are scenic point everywhere.
