Saint Dominique is a little different to your 'usual' Hotel. It was, I think, rather French! Not the same old hotel, that all look the same wherever you are. This used to be a convent, so we were told. The great thing about it is, it's just down the road from the Eiffel Tower, in a residential street. So you are not with all the other tourists, you are with the locals. I loved it!
Directions: On the Left Bank, near the Eiffel Tower.
wonderful....pleasant small hotel. Please do not take room number 1 because it's too close to the reception and people pass by anytime + in the morning you listen to all the chats of the reception.
so...the bad part of our stay was the room.
Unique Quality: area!
Directions: La Tour Mauburg
Does anyone have knowledge of either of these hotels? My husband and I are going for our 1 year anniversary and are looking for something special in the 7th district with a garden courtyard.
Hotel des Grandes Ecoles is booked for our dates.
-St. Dominique: 105euro/night
Good but sparse reviews, small size emphasized, small garden, interesting history (former convent) 1 not so thrilling review.
Hotel Varennes: 117euro/night
Many sparkling reviews, spacious garden, larger room size, nice bathrooms.
Both hotels are in the same area.
Your help is appreciated!
