Hotel Saint Merry, 76(?) Rue...
Hotel Saint Merry, 76(?) Rue de la Verrerie is exceptional. 3 minutes from L'hotel de Ville, 3 from Notre Dame and 3 from Centre Georges Pompidou. Exquisitely furnished (if small). Incredibly helpful staff ... ask Lawrence anything and she'll help ... tickets to the opera, reservations at a restaurent no one can get into ... directions, etc. She's made our stay much more delightful. Only 11 rooms.

Going to Paris!
Thanks for all who participated in my Paris/Rome/Dublin/Edinburgh dilemma! We're definitely going to Paris, have just purchased the tickets, and made hotel reservations.
We're staying in the 14th Arrondisement at the Pavillion Royal Montsouris. Does anyone know of any good restaurants close by to the hotel? Thanks in advance!

I do not want to disapoint you but the Pavillon Royal Montsouris is located at the periphery of Paris in a not pleasant area. No concern of safety but there are few things to do in the neighborhood, except the Parc Montsouris which is very beautiful with its pond.
The closest metro station is Porte d'Orleans (line 4) and you can reach the center in 40 mn.
I suggest to change hotel if possible and to choose an other one in the 4°, 5° or 6° arrondissements for a similar price.

I agree with GUYON, you would probably prefer a hotel closer to the center... that way you can more easily walk to many points of interest such as sights, good restaurants, etc. The 5th and 6th are especially good for cuisine...

I suggest Hotel de la Verrerie (formerly hotel St Merry) rue de la Verrerie 4° arrondissement - arround 100€ - ask the room with the arch (they will understand).
