Considering the Sofitel Champs Elysees Paris in Paris?

Paris on a Shoestring by SirAliztare
Having been to Paris once before, and forking out a fortune on lacklustre table service, I decidied the second time would be different. Arriving at Gare du Nord on the Eurostar on Saturday morning I was greeted by my companion for the weekend and then it was off to the Haitian Quartier for coffee. Rue de Poissonerie was the fish centre of Paris, unfortunately it now remains home to people fishing for crack and heroine rather than bass, but the architecture is divine and voodoo dolls are readily available.Walking through the Latin Quarter of a Saturday evening is a splendid occupation, especially if you're not paying for cocktails. There is a superb Cuban Bar on some narrow street where the salsa is exciting and the Mojitos taste like they've been wrung from Fidel Castro's beard. We danced the night away while every Frenchman in the area tried to crack on to my friend. Very flattering.
