Cosy centraly located hotel
Nice old hotel, very cebtraly located. Good breakfast. Only internet is too expensive to use at the room, but you can use free at the lobby if you lucky to get trough :)
Stayed here for 3 months- it's a gem. Location unbeatable!

I stayed here on business for three months and considered myself blessed. The location is unbeatable: Rue Cambon, right across from the back entrance to the Ritz, just off Place Vendome, right next to Chanel's head atelier, steps off the Rue St Honore, right in the 1st arron. The rooms are cozily decorated with Parisian charm and antique prints. Lovely Roger & Gallet products in the bathrooms. Excellent room service. Highly recommended. See if you can get an upgrade to one of the two-story 'duplexes'.
very friendly & stylish

Stayed here just before and after Christmas with my wife and daughter (1 year old).
Everything about the first stay was flawless, with one minor exception (see below). I had booked a "deluxe" room for five nights, but the hotel was quite empty and we were upgraded to a suite, which was very spacious and newly refurbished in a modern, very stylish but (thankfully) non-minimalist fashion. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (better than many five-star hotels), the breakfast buffet magnificent (though I would have thought twice had it not been included in my room rate - 28 euros will buy a very good 3-course dinner in Paris). Beware of the room service/bar menu - the food is good but the portions tiny. We didn't try the main restaurant; both serve Italian menus. (The hotel is owned by an Italian group and most of the guests are Italian). The only flaw with the first stay was that the sink in our suite was cracked - however when I pointed it out they cheerfully moved us to an identical suite on another floor. (NB the bathrooms have not yet been renovated & look a little tired compared to the new rooms.)
The second stay was for just one night, so I booked a "superior" room. This time the hotel was full (just before New Year), so no upgrades, and admittedly the room was on the small side. It had not yet been refurbished but while you could see signs of aging it was still stylish and well appointed. For one night it was fine but for a longer stay I'd have wanted something larger. However the real downside of the hotel being full was seen at breakfast - the breakfast room just isn't large enough (about 30 tables for 120 rooms), making for long queues at around 9.30am. The staff also struggled to cope, leaving the buffet somewhat bare at times.
Overall I'd definitely go back to the Castille, but might get my breakfast through room service if it looked crowded.
A magical New Year

Superb style and impeccable service in a hotel whose location could not be bettered - just 2 minutes from Place de la Concorde and the Tuileries Gardens. Even the standard room was spacious and very comfortable and the whole experience helped us to enjoy a very special New Year break. Would definitely return.
Great Hotel

This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location. We stayed for two nights at the beginning of December. The hotel is located just by the back door of the Ritz so its great for window shopping in very expensive shops! The hotel is two hotels joined together and we stayed in the older half which is more of a traditional french hotel, i think the other half has been done up recently in a more modern style.
The room wasnt massive but was big enough, the bathroom was a good size. The staff were fantastic, all English speaking and really helpful.
The bar is lovely to sit in and have a drink / read the paper. There were English papers available. We didnt eat in the restaurant - it looked a bit expensive!
Breakfast was great, a really good selection and a nice room.
All in all highly recommended.

You can make a reservation via internet, with some of them, but you must find their web site...
I like :
Gallopin, good food, good wine, but small restaurant near the Stock Exchange (Bourse)
Le Procope, good traditional food
l' Ecluse, traditional warm food, good wine

We enjoyed Au Chien qui Fume (The Smoking Dog) in the Les Halles are, probably a 5 to 10 minute walk from where you are at. They have a website (http://www.au-chien-qui-fume.com/) where you can check out the menu and prices.
