Good location, nice atmosphere

This hotel is located a short distance (10 min walk) from Notre Dame, and the famous Latin Quarter. You can easily access Metro stations as well as RER trains. Cute Restaurants nearby, as well as shops, and the Pantheon. The staff were VERY nice, and went out of their way to help us. They upgraded my boyfriend and I to the Grand Suite for no extra charge because we are both tall. The hotel and rooms were decorated tastefully in a Medieval theme. There is a fitness room, and also a whirlpool, so you can have a nice soak after a long day of sightseeing.

We really liked it, and I would recommend it.

Unique Quality: Nicely kept rooms, ambiance, great location, good price, helpful and friendly staff.

Very nice hotel and great location

Absolutely delightful small hotel within walking distance of Notre Dame and the Sorbonne. Great location and very nice rooms at a very reasonable price. Always friendly staff. Close to metro lines, etc. Also, very quiet at night for those of us who sleep before two am.

Sully St. Germain

about US$110/ night

Unique Quality: Supposedly had a jacuzzi but it wasn't working at the time, which was disappointing. Nice room, but like all European hotel rooms, it was small.

Mixed feelings about Hotel Sully Saint Germain

by A TripAdvisor Member

Typical small hotel. Room had less than two feet around bed from all dimensions. Sub-standard breakfast (even stale croissants) for US$15. Front desk staff is not helpful - not happy about calling for taxis, etc. Last-minute Expedia reservation for US$170 makes this no bargain.

My mom and I just returned from three nights in Paris and absolutely loved our stay at the Sully Saint Germain. The room was very comfortable, although a bit noisy due to the street facing location. The first night, a few drunken travlers woke us up carroling on the street. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We didn't mind the handheld shower. The lift is small, but we fit with our luggage just fine. Most of the staff was quite helpful and friendly and breakfast was fantastic. For 135 Euro, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The metro was just minutes away and there were plenty of restaurants in close proximity. The rooms were air conditioned and quite pleasant.

Great Location, great room for the price!!!! (Don't Eat Breakfast at the hotel)

My wife and me went to Paris & London last April and had a blast in both cities. However, what made the difference for us in Paris was the Sully Saint Germain. This is a great little hotel located in the heart of the action. It has several great cafes within a minute walk, the metro is only a two blocks away and you can get to Norte Dame in less than a 5-minute walk.

The rooms are very nice by European standards with private baths and TVs. The hotel also has an elevator even though it is very small which amazingly enough can be hard to fine in Paris and London.

The only thing I suggest is to stay away from their breakfast. It is below average and very expensive. You can much better food, at a better price at one of the several cafes located in the area.

Awesome Hotel!

Just got back from my honeymoon and first trip to Paris. After literally 2 weeks of researching on trip advisor to pick 1 out of 10,000 possible Paris hotels, I came away feeling pretty good about my choice. The Sully St. Germain is smallish but super nice and super clean. Like everyone else has stated below, the location is awesome! However I they may have even underestimated it a bit. After walking around all of Paris for 4 days i can tell you that the Sully's location is beyond amazing. Literally, you walk out the front door of the hotel walk down a side street for 30 seconds and voila ... Notre Dame. We didn't take the Metro at one point the whole trip, we simply walked out of the Sully and then followed the Seine river East to the Louvre and then all the way to the Arch de Triomph and Eiffel tower....although it took us 2 hours....you'll never take a more breath taking walk in your life! We were actually a little aprehensive about going to Paris after hearing some people talk about how "dirty" it was and how "rude" the people were.....however Paris was anything but. If the stay along the Seine river, you'll never see a cleaner city with as many attractions....Paris was great! Back to the hotel....The Sully is very clean and the staff is super nice. They speak perfect english and are very accomodating. The rooms are small, but spotless and actually very trendy. Hard wood floors and beautifull little balconies with flowers overlooking the city. Tons of shopping and great food just outside the door. Whether this your first time or 10th time to Paris, you can't beat the Sully St. Germain.

Small and dusty

The good points of this hotel are reasonable location and friendly staff. Unfortunately, there are far too many negatives, including small size rooms and a general feeling of uncleanliness. When we were there, major renovations were taking place which meant working crews, literally outside our window, starting work at 7:30 in the morning. The rooms to the east are far worse.

Depending on the time/day/traffic, between 100 and 150E for a round trip

Its cheaper - and quite easy actually - to take the RER line B to St Michel and then either walk (Google Maps says 1 km) or swap to Metro line 10 to Maubert Mutualite which is very near your hotel.

We usually take the RER but another alternative is a shuttle. We've used the Blue Shuttle a few times and been pleased with the service. Here's a web link. http://www.paris-blue-airport-shuttle.fr/index_en.php

You can also take a limosine for less than the taxi fare listed above. http://www.firstway.fr/resa-ok.php

Enjoy your trip.

RER is a better option. However, after a long flight, a Taxi is easy and cost is probably around 125 Euros. Traffic from CDG can be difficult so it is probabaly not faster than the train. That said, getting a cab at DG is easy.....I would also mention that when I was heading back to CDG from Paris, I decided last minute to take a taxi and it was hard for the Hotel to find one for me. Something to keep in mind for the tail end of your trip....

If you can take a limo for 80 euros, why would you pay over 100 euros for a taxi? The shuttle is 18 to 20 euros per person but it is not private; you will be traveling with others. I think you can book them privately but it would cost more . . . probably still cheaper than a taxi. ;^)

Good point, I forgot to mention that many hotels (even small ones) are willing to arrange for a car service on your behalf. It would obviosuly be more expensive than the train but probably more convenient and cheaper than a taxi.
