Great Location

Decent Hotel. Rooms are a little small, but enough for us. We didn't go to Paris to sleep.

Timhotel Opera Madeleine

The company Timhotel has nine hotels throughout Paris. I stayed in the one called "Opera Madeleine". I didn´t expect much of this hotel, because there is not much to expect for a price of only € 69,- for a double bedroom. But I was wrong.

The hotel is very clean, looks really good and the service was pleasant. The room was spacious, with not two, but three beds, a desk, a closet and lots of space between the beds. The bathroom was very clean too, with a shower, a toilet and a sink.

The view was very nice too. No dirty little alley outside of your window, but a nice, wide avenue and a view at the St. Lazare railway-station.

I didn´t have breakfast in the hotel, I went across the street, to the Starbucks, to have my breakfast. So I don´t know if the breakfast in the hotel is worth the € 8,50 they ask for it.

Unique Quality: The best thing about this hotel definately is it´s location. It´s about 300 metres away from the Opéra Garnier, about 600 metres from the Madeleine and 600 metres from the large warehouses Printemps and Galeries Lafayette.

The railwaystation is across the street, the metrostation St. Lazare (that is connected to three metro-lines) is just outside the door, the bus stops in front of the hotel, and there are lots of cafe´s and restaurants across the hotel.

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Fin de Semana en Paris

"Dia 19/12/03"

Volvemos a alucinar.

"Dia 20/12/03 1/2"

Recomendado. Un ambiente genial.Copas 12 Euros cada una . Muy Muy guapo. En la zona no hay mas marcha. Nos vamos al hotel.
Dormimos. Nos levantamos y de vuelta a Spain.

Hello,

I was in Paris 2 weeks ago. I recommend you to visit www.bancotel.com and booking a hotel there.(After that you must buy a bancotel ticket in a travel agency). The best option is to choose a 3 stars hotel.
I chose Timhotel Opera Saint Lazare ***.(Visite my travelpage for more details). Don't pay more than 50 Euros.

Enjoy Paris

Just came back from Paris, stayed at the Hotel Sainte Marie for 7 days, located in the 2nd arr. close to the 9th and 10th arr:

http://www.123europe.com/123/en/hotel.php?id_hot=496

We had a double, ensuite (ie with private sink/toilet/shower) for $54/nite including tax. They were putting in new carpet while we were there. It's a VERY basic hotel with minimal services and small rooms/bathrooms. But staff was nice, spoke some English, and the location is perfect-- we walked everywhere. Well, but we like to walk, and it's the perfect way to see the city. (For example, it's about a 20 min. brisk walk to the Louvre.)

Good luck, and have fun!

(sorry, in my post above, that's 54 euros, not dollars...)
