nice stay in renovated hotel

I am back from Paris and I stayed in Tourisme Hotel. Hotel is under renovation and room was very nice and new. Just in front of hotel door there is a metro station with three lines. there is a nice italian restaurant in front of hotel, just around the corner there is a best Thailand restaurant in Paris (local said), a lot of cafes and braseries for lunch. There is local marshe - market on Sunday and wednesday just near the hotel, you can buy fruits and regional wonderful food. There is a shopping street near buy.. Not too noisy, not too crowded, but nice area...

Priced to Perfection

Thanks to my friend Mandi Watson for recommending this little gem of a hotel located within easy walking distance of the Eiffel Tower.

The hotel is a 2* hotel with basic, clean rooms and friendly staff who are willing to provide information and assistance whenever possible. Rooms comprise bed, wardrobe, TV (with remote control), and shower room with air conditioning (although you might have to do some searching for the controls). Like most Parisian hotels, rooms are a little on the small side.

Located on the Avenue de la Motte Picquet, this hotel is within easy walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and surrounding gardens (5 minutes) and Ecole Militaire (5 minutes) with access to the Paris Metro almost immediately outside the hotel's front door (lines 6, 8 and 10).

Within easy walking distance of the hotel is a patisserie, cafes, restaurant and small supermarket to purchase provisions.

Unique Quality: Tariff is for room only but breakfast (petite dejeuner) can be purchased for an additional 6 Euros. Breakfast is served in their small dining room and comprises bread (pain), croissant, butter (beure), jam (confiture) and a choice of coffee (cafe), tea (the) or hot chocolate (chocolat).

The hotel can book excursions and sells tickets for various tours. Internet facilities are available.

Rooms on the first floor were a little noisy from the Metro so light sleepers are advised to request a room on one of the higher floors. The hotel has a small (2 person) lift for access.

More about Tourisme Hotel

Loved the location.

by TripAdvisor Member milrose

The location was ideal. It was close to most of the important attractions like the Eiffel Tower which was just a five minute walking distance. The hotel is located at the center of a lot of restaurants and shops. The people at the desk were very helpful esp. when it comes to arranging tours and transportation to the airport. Price was not bad.
It was a good experience staying at that hotel. Not a fancy hotel but clean.
They only had one elevator (old style) and it carried maybe 4 people max, but not crowded. Even if it was in the center of town, inside the hotel was quiet and relaxing.
I would stay at the hotel again if I was in the area and I recommend it to friends who don't mind staying at not so fancy hotels.

Great Location!!)

Stayed at the Tourisme for 12 nights on a "girlfriend get-away".
Found the staff friendly, the location very convenient and the room for three fine for a budget hotel. Don't book a room facing the very busy street if you plan to go to sleep early! We loved people watching from our large window on the third floor. The shopping in the area is good as there is a Monoprix on the corner as well as many good shops just past the McDonalds.
Can't beat the 6 euro breakfast! All in all a good, clean, cheap, central place to stay in Paris.

worth every penny

This two star hotel does not offer a lot of luxuries, but it makes up for it in Back to BAsics accomadations. A tiny but welcoming elevator, friendly and helpful front desk staff, good size rooms and bathrooms, plenty of hot water, daily maid service, many business travellers, ten minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, three subway lines at it's doorstep, good quality shops, restaurants and cafes within walking distance, Mcdonalds across the street an a good size MArket on Wednesdays and Sundays.
As a two star hotel one does not expect all the frills and the price also reflects this, but the hotel is exremely well located and comfortable and worth every penny.

Excellent for the price

My husband and I have stayed at the Hotel Tourisme five times and so have our married children and friends. It is very well located, clean, with most helpful staff, and an inexpensive but delicious breakfast. The rates are very reasonable, allowing us Americans to stretch our dollar during these "tough exchange" times. The short walk to the Eiffel Tower is a plus and so are the good restaurants nearby. It is in a safe and picturesque area. Metro connections could not be better.

Wonderful!!

by TripAdvisor Member LovedParis2008

On a previous trip to Paris, my family stayed here and liked it very much. On the 2nd trip, we decided to stay somewhere else that was just a little cheaper so we could spend more money on other things. That hotel was horrible! After walking into our rooms, we decided to go back to the Tourisme . We were a little worried about them not having any room for us that night, but the staff was very friendly and made everything easy for us.

We ended up spending about 15 euros more a night at the Tourisme than the other hotel, but just remember that you get what you pay for. The extra money was well worth it. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and it seems like the hotel has recently been renovated. We will never stay at another hotel in Paris.

The Tourisme is in an ideal spot--there is a metro and a train station just down the block and the walk to the Eiffel Tower is an easy one. And if you ever have the urge to eat something fast, there's a McDonalds just down the street!

Great Money Value

Just came back for a 4 day trip to paris, and the choise could not be better. great location above a metro station, 5min walk to the famous tower, and a nice neiborwood. the missing 5th star, is just because of the noise of the metro and the elevator (just for 2 people). It's better to take the breakfest on the hotel, just because outside it could get more expensive.

Nice hotel

by TripAdvisor Member silviaspt

It's not very modern, but it's location is great! There are 2 metro lines, just in front of it.
There are a lot of restaurants, including macdonalds, pizza hut very close.
It's clean and the receptionist was very nice.
