Beziers Train Station

After we get off our canal barge we need to get to Beziers train station and catch a train back to Paris late afternoon, is this the best option or should we try and get to a local airport near by and fly back up as only have the one overnight left before we will fly out of France back to Australia regards Nicky

It depends on your budget and timetable: you can either take a train at Beziers station or a plane at Vias airport. In any case you need to check the trains and flights in order to make sure you will in arrive to Paris in time.

Nissan-lez-Ensérunes and the oppidum

The oppidum on Ensérunes stands on top of a step hill and is a very scenic place. Diggings have revealed that it has been inhabited and fortified by the Romans and has been inhabited from 6th century BC to 1st century AD. It has a rich museum displaying mainly artifacts found on the site.

Below the oppidum lays the rich plain of Montady and in the middle an amazing figure, that looks almost like a gigantic landing ground for outer space visitors!…

The old city of Nissan-lez-Ensérunes stands in the plain, a few kilometers away from the oppidum.

Seems a dead city outside the bull fighting season

Our hotel was in the outskirts of the city, so we only went downtown for lunch. The heat was almost unbearable and it was very hard to find a restaurant with a non-stop service.
Only for a night, so that's the impression I had (see the title of this intro page).
