This is a great place to stay. From the moment I walked in I felt that I was on holiday but at the same time it was like coming home. The Presbytère is in the tiny, quiet village of Bugarach in the heart of Cathar Country in Languedoc-Roussillon, south-west France. The B&B is nestled at the foot of the Pic de Bugarach, the highest mountain in the Corbières and makes a great base for walking and climbing as well as visiting the Cathar castles, museums, Carcassonne and much more. Sander and Rommie, the Dutch hosts, are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
The room was beautiful with antique furniture, decorated stylishly with Rommie's great attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious - a continental style breakfast with crusty bread, home-made jam, yogurt, and just when we thought we'd finished out came a plate of freshly-baked madeleine cakes. For anyone staying here the evening meal is a must - Sander, a trained chef, makes the most amazing four-course meal, many of the ingredients coming from Rommie's vegetable garden. Some good local wines are also on offer.
We don't have pets but they do accept them!
The unique qualities of this accommodation are the beautiful rooms, the view of the wonderful Pic de Bugarach from the garden and above all the warmth and friendliness of the hosts Sander and Rommie.
This is the best place to stay near Bugarach. Very nice service and the food is the best. The room is very beautifull. And you feel like home. It is very cheap. Only 45 euros for Demi-pension with to people staying together in one room.
