While the hotel doesn't look too impressive from the outside (it's badly in need of a lick of paint), it's actually OK inside with large rooms containing an odd mix of old and new. The beds seem to have been replaced fairly recently and the bathrooms renovated but the furniture is all of the old wooden variety.
Be warned also that the hotel is on a busy street with a bar next door so if you like your peace & quiet ask for a room at the back.
Unique Quality: This hotel has a brilliant location right in the centre of town. It's only 2 minutes from Square Gambetta where all the local buses stop (including the one to the airport), less than 10 minutes to the train station and less than 15 minutes to the walled city.
It's also a lot cheaper than many of the hotels in the walled city which is great if you're on a tight budget.
Directions: Just a 2 minute walk from Square Gambetta (the bus from the airport stops there) or less than 10 minutes from the train station, opposite the Palais de Justice on Boulevard Jean Jaures
