La cité intérieure
by Klod5
Take a stroll in the riverside park
by LizC
If you are at Pont Neuf or Pont Vieux, don't miss the little park along the river Aude, I've seen many bikers taking a senic ride along the river bank, and wish I can find a place to rent a bike too, we tried but the only place around the Cite, hotel Vieux only rent bikes in summer, we're told later on our way back to Brussels, that rental bikes are available around the train station.
For regional food
by ptitetoile about La Tête de L'art
This is a restaurant where you can eat very good traditional regional food, served by a regional guy in a typical place!
The good :
The place attracted me immediately.... a wall with a mix of stones and wood, a fireplace, nice little tables and an old house atmosphere...The food was really good! And if you are really hundry... you will have enough to eat...I promise!!!
The bad :
What concerns the service, I was quite astonished...
The proprietary, a guy in th fifties with a grey beard take care of us...in a strange way! Allways very friendly, he tried to serve us as quick as possible! With a special humor, he was waiting impatiently for us to give our choices.... And took also our plates as soon as we were finished...with a cigaret in the mouth or in the hand... that was less nice ! I ate a vegetable soup an then a pork piece with mosterd....really good!
THE MEDIEVAL CITY

La Cite sits on the a plateau on the right side of the Aude river. The minute you step into the fortress you fell like you have been transported to another time. The is a small community of inhabitants that actually live inside the fortress for most of the year.
