master painters lived there.
some friends who came to visit me in collioure stayed there and were very satisfied.
but I visited some rooms and I would've totally OK to stay there.
on the other hand, I often went there to eat or for a drink and it was just great food everything is daily fresh and not very expensive.the staff is very nice especially this40+ morocan guy who's been a waiter there every summer for the last 10 yrs or so. he knows the region very well, he,s almost better than the tourist office.everytime I asked him about something is tips were always beyond my expectations. I don"t remember is name unfortunatly but sure worth inquiring. hope he'still there for you all...
Unique Quality: this hotel has been inahbited by famous painters like Matisse,Maillol,dufy.Picasso,Dali and many others. you can always MR.pous the owner to see golden book where all the famous people who stayed there signed or left a drawing it is quite interesting.is father used to provide food and shelter for many of them in exchange of a painting. between you and me I think some of those paintings have been replaced by reproductions wich would make sense don't you think?

Les Templiers Hotel is a pleasant surprise!
Les Templiers Hotel is ideally location adjacent to the Chateau and 2 minutes from the beach and marina. It a family ownered, historical site with comfortable, well designed rooms, hallways full of famous paintings, outstanding Catalan gastronomy and wine and a customer service oriented ownership. Also the hotel has a bar and a restaurant which has a tasty dinner selection which keeps it stocked with locals and tourist. The food prices were a little expensive but taste one fork Michelin.
Unique Quality: The room I stayed in cost about 70 euros and had all the little nice touches I've experienced at 100 euros + a day hotels.
Ask for a place not facing the walkway to the marina.
