Rebuffy Pub
by Suet
This was a real find! The kind of pub I would have adored to have been part of back in the 60's. I will quote directly from the brochure if I may:
The Rebuffy pub is your international meeting place for cultural exchanges, always within a festive and relaxed atmosphere, Rebuffy offers you many great delas and attractions which will keep you coming back.
Cinema: The Festival des Palmes whic happens every year at the Rebuffy presents for you a selection of short films. The Rebuffy takes care of your need to get away from it all.
Exhibits: Our walls are offered to young talent in rotating exhibits of painting and photography. Rebuffy takes caer of your artistic side.
Games: An ample choice from card games to society games to regular chess tournaments will keep your neurons crackling.
The general philosphy is that this is a place to exhibit your work, dink, chat, chill out, exchange ideas and culture and not too expensive either. It would appeal to people who are happy to give and are very friendly and relaxed. Bit like VTers really.
Antigone
by BurgerQueen
Antigone is an area built from scratch during the 80s, in neoclassical style. What I like the most is entering the Polygone shopping mall from Place de la Comédie et going out from the Antigone exit.
The impression is to be in a different city. Buildings are all built with the same youllowish stones and all look the same. The main pedestrian street leading to the river Lez goes through several squares enriched with beaufiful fountains populated by statues of gods and goddes.
This wonderful area also hosts Montpellier public library (one of the best libraries I've ever seen) and the new swimmingpool.
The Secret World of Montpellier

"The center of the world"
I've been to a lot of cities, and Montpellier is by far my favorite. Montpellier is located a little over 3 hours south of Paris by TGV, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region..
I've looked at all of the other Montpellier pages on VT objectively and although their authors did point out the major historical attractions of the city... there is nothing in particular that would make me jump on the next plane to go visit. So with that said, I'm going to tell you everything they didn't.
Zlur's Montpellier Page

Montpellier is the capital of Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France. It's got impressive architecture, with most of its buildings in gothic style. There is lots to see and do, so you'll need a couple of days to see it all! It's got a very rich history, being a thousand year old city.
