SWIMMING POOLS
by eneleh
I cannot seem to find out where (if any!) public swimming pools are in the villages around Montpellier. I wish to find a swimming pool on the outskirts of Montpellier rather than have to go into the centre. Can anyone tell me where I can go/find them?

Thank you, but I checked out that link and it includes swimming pool manufacturers etc. Is there any site (besides the montpellier agglo site) which lists public swimming pools? I'm hoping to find a pool as far out as Ganges but after searching for what seems like forever, can't seem to find anything.

Just walk around and sit down wherever you like. In one of the parks. This one in named Esplanade and is the prolongation of the big Place de Commerce with the Town Theater, (Comédie). The evenings and nights of free theater, music and dance during the summer season. Look at my other Montpellier page in my general France Travelouge
Aigues Mortes - small town...

Aigues Mortes - small town about an hour away from Montpellier. It's a town completely enclosed by walls and towers which remained intact from many years ago. Here you will find many souvenir shops, restaurants etc.. In the main square you will find artists, capturing someone's portrait!
Louis XIV At Center of Prom. Peyrou
by hquittner
At the center of the Promenade there is immense equestrian statue of Louis XIV dressed as a Roman Leader directing his Legions, set at the highest site in the city. However, although the statue was begun by d'Aviler, it was only finished in 1776 by Giral, when it was put in place.

I spent a month in Montpellier learning French {sadly i cant say i improved greatly in my French}. I got to know the town pretty well, it's a truly fabulous town once you discover all the little side alleys.
As the French would say, C'est Superb!
St Guilem Le Desert
by Kate-Me
With Montpellier as our base, with our friends Erick and Mary, we visited the village of St Guilem Le Desert, a small village set around a rocky hill.
We stopped briefly at Le Pont du Diable (The Devil's Bridge), just a few minutes before the entry to the village
