According to the airport's website the shuttle is still running.

Hi,
It would help if you understood some French as the following site is in French.

Have a look at www.nimes-aeroport.fr. Click on "Guide du voyageur" then on "Navette". There you have the timetables of the buses that meet the planes and then go into Nimes centre but only up until 28 March for the moment. Cost of the bus is 5 euros payable on the bus.

There is another site www.nimesairport.com which is in English. Click "Q and A" and you have a listing of questions concerning travel to the airport. Clicking on "Correct shuttle timetable" takes you to the same timetable in French as on the other site.
Hope this helps.

Travel Tips for Nîmes

LES ARENES

by LoriPori

Built at the end of the first century AD, the amphitheatre LES ARENES in Nimes is among the largest in Roman Gaul. It is approximately l33m long and 21m high, has two levels, each with 60 arches.
It is the best preserved Roman amphitheatre in the world today. The know-how of modern architects and mastery of heating systems is now added to the skill of the Roman builders. It is still in use today for concerts and other venues.

Les Arènes de Nîmes are the the world's best-preserved amphitheatre. I was pretty stunned once I walked into this place. It's sooooo ancient!!!! And for a moment, I forgot bullfights are held here as well.

jardin de la fontaine was a much loved venue for late afternoon picnics and people spotting. we saw plenty of weddings See the Magne tower, fountains and statues. It is a beautiful place and worth the walk out of town.

Amphithétreâtre

the amphitheatre goes back to the I century AC but now the gladiators have given place to sportmen and artists and in the days of performances it cannot be visited, which happened to me and it was too late to get a ticket for the performance... :-(

Roman Nimes

by antistar

Nimes is probably most famous for its Roman history, and it has several very well preserved and stunning Roman sites, some right bang in the city center, like the impressive amphitheatre, and some just a short journey outside, like the unmistakeable Pont du Gard. However, surrounding this Roman wonders is a fine city in its own right. Nimes is a pleasant city to walk around, and apart from the Roman tourist attractions, it has a lovely old town center, and the delightful Jardins de la Fontaine, an 18th century park fed by graceful waterways on the northern edge of the city.

This city has to be one of France's premier attractions.

Things I Loved

The Amphitheater, the Pont du Gard and the excellent youth hostel.

Disappointments

Nothing in particular. The city is one of my favourites.
