La Dordine: A hidden gem
This B&B is tucked away in a steep, narrow alley in the old walled city of Pezenas. Owners are great folks, making us feel comfortable right away. Rooms are spartan but clean. Leave your heavy bags at home as they won't fit up the narrow [really narrow] spiral staircase. Breakfast breads and pastries made by owners. They also wholesale wines and have wine tastings.

La Dordine: Best B&B in Pezenas
We've stayed here about three times now. The Dordine is in an old house - exposed stone walls etc - which has been beautifully and simply kept. It is set in the heart of the old city part of this beautiful town and near to all the restaurants, yet is tucked away and very peaceful. The rooms are simply but nicely furnished and are very clean and well kept. Some rooms have private bath /shower, some are shared. The rooms are set over three floors and there is a stone spiral staircase which is quite steep. We usually take the top room and we are over 60 and can get up OK with our bags but not for someone who has mobility problems.
At 45 euro for the room for two people sharing and including breakfast it is an absolute steal just for this alone. What makes it really special however is the charming couple who run it. They both come from a hospitality background with experience in Europe and US. They have a very strong interest in the local landscape and produce. All of the breads, brioche and jams served at breakfast are home made and are delicious. The owners both speak very good English and at any time they are always really helpful in giving information and advice about the area. We hesitated to recommend it for fear that we might not get in next time!!

A: "You will find cafes and restaurants open in winter but you can also expect some winter weather. If you want a truly mild climate, you might want to stay nearer the shore...."
