Mas Vacquieres: great romantic get away

What a special place this is, with such very warm and charming hosts! I highly recommend for a small group or a couple(stay in the private suite). The grounds are what you think of when you think of the south of france. Thomas and Miriam are so attentive to details and making sure that their guests feel pampered. Also, make sure you take advantage of getting chef Miriam to prepare a dinner while you are there. Our dinner with Thomas and Miriam was the best meal of our week long trip. Mas Vacquieres is a perfect relaxing get-away, and a great place to base when exploring the different nearby villages and wineries.

Unique Quality: Property has a beautiful creek behind it , quaint courtyards, intimate terraces and lovely spacious rooms. The charming town of Uzes is only 15 minutes away with great shopping and food. Mas Vacquieres, in a beautiful location, is situated in the farmhouse and buildings of a former silkworm farm in the 10 home hillside hamlet (hameau) of Vacquieres associated with the nearby village of St. Just. A scenic creek runs along the lower boundry of the property which is set among farms and woods, surrounded by hills. The swimming pool is set in a picturesque private setting within the walls of an old barn on the banks of the creek in a beautiful garden. The 5 rooms and very spacious living room for the use of guests are across the lane and up 16 steps from the Van Dijke’s home. Each room is furnished and decorated differently, very tastefully and appropriately for the area, with modern comforts. The thick stone walls and excellent windows efficiently keep out external noise. Each room has individually adjustable heating units, necessary in the winter. We were there during a very cold spell and heating was great. ( Many B & Bs in the area are closed during winter months , and lack of heating is a significant reason) . Rooms as with all facets of the property are immaculately clean and well maintained. Nothing appeared jaded or worn.
