Getting to Limoges Airport by public transport

by suzannemoss

Is it possible to get to Bellegarde Airport from Benedictin Train Station by public transport, or at least within a kilometre or so?

Re: Getting to Limoges Airport by public transport

The official airport website says:

No shuttle services between the airport and Limoges.
By taxi : about 15 mn to Limoges (20 € daily fare)

The city bus website has a map which shows that the number 16 bus runs near the airport but no buses go to the airport itself. You would need to change bus in the city centre for Gare Benedictins.

However the service is both irregular and infrequent.

The bus company website has all the information, maps and timetables etc, in English at

Hope that helps.

The village of Oradour-sur-Glane

by Pierre_Rouss

On a grimmer note : the village of Oradour-sur-Glane
On June 10, 1944, a Nazi SS Division surrounded the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, a few miles west of Limoges, then ordered its 642 inhabitants to assemble in the town square. Women and children were then herded into the town church which was set on fire while they were machine-gunned. Men were executed. The entire town was then set on fire. A total of 245 women, 207 children and 190 men were killed.
Oradour-sur-Glane was never rebuilt, forever standing as a silent monument to Nazi atrocities.
More Info: A motto on the new Oradour town brochure reflects the attitude of its people: `Ni haine - ni oubli.` Neither hate nor forgetfulness.
