As in nearly every French city or village there are outdoor markets with fresh regionally grown foods, always fun to visit and buy food for a picnic in the park or on your upcoming train or car ride. This market was very located in the old city amongst the half-timbered buildings.
As mentioned in my France homepage, I chose Limoges as my Périgord anchor city. Limoges itself is nice, but to visit the Périgord region, you better stay in Périgueux or numerous countryside or farm accommodations.
The Périgord region is located South of Limoges and is located North of Toulouse.
It is a magnificent region, renowned for the famous Foie Gras and Confit, but also have rivers, some of the most picturesque villages in France, mineralogical wonders and archeological and historical sites.
