Hotel La Maison Des Channoines: A Wonderful Inn in a historic town

Our room was very large and had a private deck for our use. Luck for us as we always travel with a fan, it was hot the week we stayed at the Inn. The Inn was perfect!! very clean and roomy. You couldn't ask for a more charming owner, willing to help as a tour guide also!!

A very picturesque town. Just a few feet from the lovely countryside of Turenne could be seen

Hotel La Maison Des Channoines: A small, personable, hotel

This is a terrific hotel! The owners run it with very little help. Mrs. Chantal Cheyroux runs the hotel and her husband is the chief. They have a special 3 night dinner package but after the first meal we made reservations for the week. Her husband is a real gourmet chief and the meals were delicious.

I had made all our plans in states on which towns we should visit. Many of my references were from the Karen Brown travel books. When I mentioned the towns to Mrs. Cheyroux said that she gave Karen Brown the travel hints. We showed her our map and she changed the towns that we should see by circling them on the map. Every day we would see her at breakfast and she would circle more towns and ask about the ones we visited. Her English was very good and she was very, friendly and helpful.

We had a nice patio off our room and the room was large, clean and quiet. The town, Turenne, was perfect for seeing southern France. I think there was only 3 restaurants which one closed early. The food at the hotel was excellent and we didn't check the other restaurant out.
