The reception staff was very nice. We checked in before the assigned time, and it was not a problem. I asked for a quiet room and we got it. Large bathroom but no shower curtain. Needless to say, the floor ended up wet. Towels are small and thin by American standards. But then this is only a 2-star hotel. Breakfast was meager, but there is fresh-squeezed orange juice and coffee--all that matters to me.
It was, however, difficult to find. The GPS kept taking us to a side street parallel to the parking lot access street. The sign was easy to miss as I was more worried about getting hit or hitting another vehicle (narrow 2-lane street, more like one lane in the US).
I recommend this hotel for those who are not fussy. It worked for what we needed it for-- get cleaned up and sleep. For the price, I can't complain.
Unique Quality: AIR-CONDITIONED rooms and very close to the train station. There is parking in the back of the building for euro 6.50. Not a bad deal at all. Also it is not too far of a walk to Place Stanislas and the other sights.
Directions: In the vicinity of the cathedral and the train station.
