Art and Style in Abundance

The Hotel l'Europe is a three-star hotel in the centre of Castres. We stayed in the sister hotel, the Hotel Renaissance, just 50 metres away. Both hotels are decorated with every period of art, huge flower arrangements, folliage, marketry, sumptous furnishings and a couple of friendly dogs. The structure of the hotel appears ancient - as if you are staying in a castle. The rooms are large (mostly) and with generous furnishings. Ours had a chaise-longue!

As well as buffet breakfasts, the Hotel 'l'Europe serves a buffet lunch and evening meal for €10. These consist of a vast array of regional and international dishes on a serve yourself basis. All dishes are displayed cold, and you can heat them yourselves in a selection of microwaves (sounds stupid, but was excellent!)

These hotels are for people who enjoy an experience rather than require facilities - they don't provide pools, saunas, gymnasiums etc., but do provide style, character and warmth.
