where the saint was born on January 7, 1844, the daughter of a miller. Her former home is open April through October daily from 9am to noon and 2 to 6:30pm, November through March daily from 3 to 5pm. This was actually her mother's house. Likewise, the home of Bernadette's father, François Soubirous, is a shrine.The entrance is free from what iu recall, it is a very meagre abode and is a testament to the saint.
