MOST RECOMMENDED HOTEL we have ever stayed.
We are surprised that in the lists of hotels in VT's Lourdes, France accommodation, this particular hotel was not listed, perhaps we did not see it also, or was missed.
The name of the accommodation is: RESIDENCE SAINT JEAN LOURDES.
My wife and I come to Lourdes at least 3 times a year, either we do volunteer work at the hospital, accompany friends or friends coming from Barcelona or just do our private personal pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. We have stayed at hotels, 5 star hotels in Lourdes, or even just regular accommodation done by private nuns. Average we spend on our accommodation was between 90 euros AND 50 euros. So last October 2012, we just walked in and checked in at the most recommended accommodation. It is called "RESIDENCE SAINT JEAN LOURDES. The complete address is: 1, Avenue du Paradis, 65100 Lourdes. The telef: +33 5 62 46 30 07, their fax: +33 5 62 42 56 95. EMAIL: hotelsaintjean@lcv-hotels.com. There are many reasons why we would recommend this hotel. First of all, it is about 5 short easy walking distance to the main Santuario entrance. It's customary when an accommodation is called "residence", it means, you have a complete kitchenette. Yes, it has all that, 2 small electric stove, wherein you are able to prepare your meals, complete set of pots and pan, a regular size Microwave oven, and right underneath is your small refrigirator.
It has an efficient wifi, however, you can only surf or use the hotel's wifi by the dinning room, NOT IN YOUR BEDROOM.
Of-course, at this "residence", they too offer breakfast which is from 6am till 10am which is pretty much straight forward breakfast which we can somehow called "continental breakfast"...which would be coffee, hot chocolate, one good size of crousson, or pieces of freshly baked baquette, jelly, honey, jam and fresh butter. They too will offer you at no extra charge some pastries. The dinning room is always kept clean and very welcoming.
We met and had a good chat with one of the manager, his name is Fadil Caravaku, very helpful indeed.
Another news we can tell you is that this "residence Saint Jean Lourdes, the bedroom they assigned us to has a small patio and it even has a cute round table wherein you can enjoy your personal breakfast.
We stayed at this accommodation for 7 complete nights. Every single day the maids would come and fix your linnens, give you fresh smelling clean towels, shampoo as well as body soap.
As we said, if your handicap, do not worry as the accommodation is well equipped for handicapped visitors.
The costs per night was 60 euros for the room for my wife and myself.
As you know there is really no perfect accommodation, no matter where you booked....the only thing they locked was free parking, so, what we did was to bring our vehicle at a free parking lot which was about 20 minutes walk which is located towards the exit out of Lourdes, or in short, close enough to the freeway. Other than that, all was perfect at this accommodation and we shall return to this same accommodation for the year 2013 and we shall recoommend it to friends and relatives.
Unique Quality: 1. It is about 5 easy walking distance to the main entrance of the Santuary.
2. The costs was only 60 EUROS per night.
3. It has an effecient kitchenette (they give you complete kitchen utilities, pots and pans, silverwares, cups, plates, bowls and if you need more, they will be happy to pitch in more for your comfort.
4. Bedsheets (linnens) were constantly changed. Towels were always clean. Good supplies of shampoos, face soup). It even has an effiecient hair dryer.
5. The employees , we find them very helpful and speaks excellent English and Spanish.
6. WIFI was always efficient, except that NO WIFI IN YOUR BEDROOMS...this is very normal for all the accommodations in Lourdes, you only have WIFI by the dinning room or receiving room downstairs where you check in or check out.
WE HOPE WE WERE ABLE TO HELP YOU FIND RECOMMENDABLE ACCOMMODATION.
God Bless YOU.!!
