Some questions of getting to Lourdes, France;
If I am in Rome, what is the best way to travel to Lourdes? How about if I am in Madrid? Or in Paris?
What is the best way to travel from Lourdes to Fatima, Portugal?

i hope i did not reply to late for you. my family did rome to lourdes a few years back with stopover in florence, venice and nice in france using trenitalia and sncf trains.
the longest train ride would be the overnight from venice to nice then finally lourdes.
if you don`t have the luxury of time take a plane ride from rome to nice or toulouse then take the plane to lourdes.happy travels!

coming from paris is the easiest way to get to lourdes. just take the tgv train in paris and 7 hours later you`re in lourdes.
the tgv is a high speed train, very modern and the ride is comfortable. the view of the french countryside on the way is a plus.

sorry about the typo on the first reply. what i meant to say was take the plane in rome to toulouse or nice then take the TRAIN to lourdes. duh!;)
but toulouse is much much nearer to lourdes. nice is one nightrain journey away.

There is an Air France flight from Orly to Lourdes, France. Is this the same Lourdes, France where the famous pilgrimage site is?
Is there also train from Lourdes to Barcelona or Madrid or Lisbon?

If you do want to more about the Miracles and cures associted with Lourdes, there is a summary in the landing outside the Medical Bureau, well worth a visit (though most of it is in french)
You will find the medical bureau on the top floor of one of the building on the Left as you walk along the 'dual carriage way' away from the basillica.
