My Home in Lourdes!
This hotel exceeded my expectations and would most likely be where I would stay again. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful and I must say that they keep the rooms very clean. There are a number of rooms that face east and overlook the little river - Le Gave - and have spectcular views of Chateau Fort and the Pyrenees. This was my favourite place to sit and read in the morning.
The hotel is just 5 mins. from the Sanctuary (which makes it easy to return to for a break or pick-up/drop-off stuff). It is also just 10-15 mins. from the centre of town and other sites like the Parish Church, Tourist Info Centre and relaxing cafes & restaurants.
The rate I had for the room from Travelocity was 65 Euro including Breakfast. I think this was very reasonable considering the service, location and comfort.
Unique Quality: The rooms facing east have a magnificent view of the River Gave, Chateau Fort and the Pyrenees. Since Lourdes is practically surrounded by mountains, I think all the rooms would have great views of the scenery.

What is the best way for three of us to transfer from Pau airport to Lourdes Hotel La Solitude at 9.00 a.m.

I have alsways found the taxi service in Lourdes to be very reliable and very reasonably priced. If there are three of you then maybe it would be worth you while to go straight from the airport in Pau to your hotel by taxi. By the time you pay three train or bus fares to Lourdes with a possible taxi fare from Lourdes station (which is a little out of the way of the hotels if your lugging baggage) you would probably find that it is not much more to have the comfort and convenience of cab from the airport staight to the door of your hotel.
