Without you mentioning your hotel budget, perhaps 30 -35Euros per night for a double would be reasonable for you, this would come with continental breakfast. From time to time during summer we would take a small group of religious people visiting Barcelona from London and we would do these as part of our pilgrimage to accompany the elderly to Lourdes. So we would call the hotel. The hotel we normally go to is Saint Jean Baptiste Hotel, which is a stone throw from the santuary gate. This hotel is about 8 -10 minutes easy walking from the train station as you said you would take the train from Paris. Normally your train from Paris arrives Lourdes very early morning, just as long as it's not raining and pouring the walk from the train station to the hotel is quite pleasant. You don't even need to taxi as the walk is hill downwards, so, it's easy. Everything is Lourdes is small so, everything you can just visualized is around the corner. People there are so nice, helpful however, it is starting to become quite commercialized. Meaning when you wish to bring home some religious items if you go from one or two or even three stores enquiring about the price that would be brilliant of you to do so, as the prices flactuates, every store has different prices. The candles too! Try to purchase your candles way before 2100 HR. as the prices can raise. Yes, those candles you will want to have one for the procession. It is one of the things we look forward too everynight, at 2100. It is best to buy your candle way ahead of time and que in at any of your favourite location for the most beautiful rosary procession you will ever experience.We particularly we enjoy being right on top of somewhat in front of the cathedral as we can have a great few of everyone and that very touchy view of the lighted candles. It is so touchy to see Lourdes with just by the lights of the candles of the public! Please do include my family in your prayers when you go to Lourdes.
