Millau Viaduct.
by rchitekt
I want to go from Montpellier to Millau by bus. Can somebody tell me the bus times after 8:30 am. Once in Millau I want to go to see the Millau viaduct. How can I do that. Is there is a bus from the town or are there any taxis available.
Next day I want to come back to Montpellier to catch 10:16 am train to Cannes. So is there a bus in the morning from Millau to Montpellier.
If anybody knows the ticket price, it will be helpful..
Thanks

In Millau you can book a tour at the tourism office, to see the viaduct on the site, but if you only want to see the viaduct from below, you can also rent a bike or spend your day walking. The viaduct is located at about 5 km West from the town. It's a beautiful area, you know. The visitors center is in the center of the town. Here is a link: http://www.ot-millau.fr/index_gb.htm

I was unaware that a bus traveled between these two points. To my knowledge there is but train service, the schedules of which are available here:

Travel Tips for Millau
Elementary school art work
by JLBG
I wondered what was that artwork sitting by the side of the covered market, in front of the School of Music. I learnt from a small sign that the pupils from the neighboring elementary school had carved it. They had also painted the wall behind.
Out of Place Foch
by JLBG
You can go out of the market of Place Foch by another covered passage. Millau, though only at 350 m elevation, can be pretty snowy. In Winter, these passages give a protected environment that allows to go from one house to another and to avoid the snow.
Gigantic figures
by JLBG
The inventor of the site, speleologist Albert Alfred Martel, has named each of these gigantic figures. This allowed him to remember more easily, which was which and note it on a map. We have seen the Porte de Mycènes. Other names in the chaos are "Arc de triomphe", the Sphinx and many others.
MILLAU GORGE BRIDGE
by ViajesdelMundo
We did not actually go to Millau, because this stupendous bridge now crosses the gorge where the town lies. We were on our way to Carcassonne from Le Puy en Velay.
The Millau Bridge crosses the River Tarn in the Massif Central mountains. It was designed by the British architect Lord Foster and at 300m (984 feet) it is the highest road bridge in the world, weighing 36,000 tonnes. The central pillar is higher than the famous French icon, the Eiffel Tower. The Bridge opened in December 2004 and is possibly one of the most breath taking bridges ever built.
